The Inverness to Dingwall railway line runs behind the property and approximately 27 trains use the line daily less on Sundays. Ferry House is within easy reach of Inverness the Highland capital and Loch Ness to the south. To the west is the Isle of Skye and the stunning west coast. To the east visit quaint fishing villages of the Moray Coast. Mountain biking golf climbing and hill walking along with fishing and watersports are available locally.     Hot did not work when we got there but issue was quickly resolved by the owner. The cottage is in an amazing setting, do not be put off by the train track, does not bother you at all!!

    We stayed here in January and enjoyed every minute. There are a few things to note when staying in winter: 1)Heating the log burner can cost about £10 a day 2)The road to the house can freeze over making it impossible to get a 2 wheel drive car up the hill and back out so it's best to try park up top 3)The oil central heating can be a bit sporadic making the house quite cold without the log burner Other than the above we had no real issues and these wouldn't occur in the summer anyway. If there was anything we ever needed we could easily contact the owner by his mobile number and he sorted any issues out promptly. Overall would stay again. Jamie & Ally

    The cottage itself is brilliant, the location great but some of the furniture need changing, the jacuzzi is a bonus but I don't think anyone check the water regularly as recommended, but the most upsetting was that on my arrival @18.00pm, as it was said in the cottage description, first basket of fuel was free which it was in fact tree small logs not enough to warm up the burner never mind the house,after several attempts I couldn't contact the owner witch was very disappointing. Allso in the last two days we could not use the wi-fi that was supposed to be provided due to the owner no paying the bill, after contacting him he send me a message @22.00pm that he will sort this problem next day. We will not be going there again that's for sure.

    Generally not clean but I let that go nothing was going to ruin our honeymoon!! Until.... first night the bed was so uncomfortable!! second night we used the other bed, ridiculously uncomfortable!! still adamant that nothing was going to ruin our honeymoon we put the mattresses together for the third night, still horrific!! At this point we looked at the mattresses... one was stained, ripped and approximately 20years old as shown on the label, the other had several holes in one side, four in the other and broken springs pushing through. Meanwhile the heating wasn't working in the main living room and dining area so (not ruining our honeymoon) we kept the log burner lit, costing approx £10 per evening ( 4 hours). Owner & agents weren’t willing to help so we moved out and into the local Premier Inn.
