Day trips to the whole of the county are easy from this central location only 8 miles to Alnwick where you can visit the famous castle used in Harry Potter. Bamburgh Holy Island Seahouses and Newton-by-the-Sea are all easily reached from here. Take a boat trip from Seahouses to see the puffins or venture over the causeway to Holy Island an unspoilt beautiful experience. Head west to the beautiful tranquil Northumberland National Park famous for the dark skies or head to Hadrian’s Wall country and visit the Roman museums. Northumberland reputedly the friendliest county has something for everyone of all ages and visitors return time and again once they have experienced this beautiful county. Beach 1½ miles.     Fieldfare is like a home from home. The house is very comfortable and spacious as well as being well equipped. Location is great as there are so many places to visit all within reasonable distances. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely look to book here again. Plenty of parking and a good sized garden with furniture complements the lovely house. The only thing to be aware of is that the house is on a fairly main road, it didn't affect us at all and it's not intrusive but you will be aware of passing traffic. The local pub is worth a visit, lovely fire on a chilly day!!

    House was perfect for our requirements. Can’t fault the house it has everything we needed. Only thing we struggled with was limited amenities around. No shops & only 1 local pub Within walking distance which was small & dark & did not serve food.

    We had the most fabulous holiday. The house is stunning, modern, comfortable & spacious. The back garden is beautiful, large & perfect for adults to relax and children to play. Despite being directly on the main road the noise was minimal & being so close to a train crossing provided plenty of entertainment for the kids who don’t see this in the city. We would certainly think about another holiday in Fieldfare in future.

    We have enjoyed a lovely fortnight in this well equipped family-home. There were some weatherly ups-and-downs, but in all: Northumbria is a lovely part of NE England, and so close to the Scottish Borders as well. And the start of our holiday could not be better: home made scones+blackberry jelly+clotted cream and Spanish Cava ....... and a pint of milk; all very delicious and sparkling. As for a special Point of Interest: the adjacent convenience store/Post Office with a very friendly lady telling lots of historical facts of her family shop and the village of Christon Bank. Not to be missed in buying: Sellkirk Bannock (from Scotland).

    Couldn't fault the house in any way - extremely high quality furnishings/fittings. Very well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Great secure garden for our dog, great location to use as a base to explore Northumberland. Our only (very slight) negative was that the house is on a b-road which is quite busy with traffic, so perhaps not as peaceful as we expected, but this didn't detract from the house at all which is lovely, as is the area.

    Modern, well equipped, immaculate clean and really comfortable. Walked down to local pub 2 minutes away and had a pleasant pint (or two!). Lots to do in the local area, what's not to like, excellent.
