Effortlessly combining the traditional features of a country cottage with modern day amenities. The cottage has been fully restored with your comfort in mind, stylish features blend with oak beams and a cosy wood burner. The smart new kitchen area is suitably equipped, whether rustling up a hearty breakfast or supper for two. Upstairs, enjoy a good night’s sleep in the kingsize bed. Outside is an enclosed patio, a perfect spot to sit and relax at the end of a day after exploring this beautiful place. The owners have thoughtfully added extra touches with an electric car charging point, garage storage for motor bikes or cycles, and a wash down area for your furry friend.
Sitting at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this charming cottage makes the perfect base for walkers and cyclists to explore beautiful Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales. There are plenty of riverside and woodland walks from the door which continue into the wonderful countryside beyond. One of the most popular walks is Wainwright’s Coast to Coast, which passes through Richmond, and will take you through some breath-taking countryside with majestic views.
Richmond offers a diverse location and caters to all tastes. A beautiful, cobbled marketplace is the centrepiece for a variety of interesting shops, pubs and fine restaurants to suit all palates. The famous Norman castle dominates the skyline, with circular walks around the riverbanks taking you past the station, a bustling centre hosting art and craft exhibitions, a three-screen cinema, café, independent shops, a micro-brewery and an ice cream parlour. On the same site there is an indoor swimming pool and health club.
To enjoy the wider area, visit one of the many pretty Yorkshire towns or villages, such as Thirsk, Ripon, Harrogate, Leyburn, Hawes or Reeth, all of which are accessible within a short drive. For horse race lovers, enjoy a day at Catterick or York racecourses. The cathedral city of Durham is just over half an hour away, and is certainly worth a day trip to explore, as is historic Barnard Castle and Bowes Museum. There is so much to see and do in beautiful North Yorkshire, one visit is simply never enough!
