This delightful cottage is situated in the beautiful grounds of Finzean Estate, in the heart of Royal Deeside and surrounded by rich woodlands, heather hills and abundance of wildlife. It has been sympathetically restored to provide very attractive and cosy accommodation in a secluded peaceful environment. Garden Cottage, with its elegant décor and spacious kitchen, is situated across the courtyard from Finzean House and as its name suggests, has a lovely sunny garden at the rear, ideal for enjoying the afternoon sun. Visitors are welcome to explore the Estate grounds where fishing, rough shooting, stalking and wildlife safari trips are available by arrangement with the gamekeeper.
A diverse range of activities including walking, birdwatching, and cycling are all available for the outdoor enthusiast. Finzean House was the former home of the renowned artist Joseph Farquharson, and many of his works were based on the local scenery. There are fantastic walks at every turn here, views aplenty and the cottage is ideally located for exploring the whole of Royal Deeside. Horse riding, golf and other numerous pastimes can all be accessed locally. The Estate also boasts a lovely farm shop and café where visitors can enjoy home made cakes, lunches and afternoon tea, while further afield the villages of Ballater and Braemar, with their royal connections, have plenty of shops and other eating places. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 7 miles.
Garden Cottage can be booked together with Deer Park Cottage (ref UK13046) and The Butlers House to accommodate up to 12 guests.
