The picturesque market town of Andover, in the Test Valley, with its attractive high street and narrow walkways, dates to Saxon times. There’s plenty to do in and around Andover. As you’d expect from most UK towns, there are a wide range of shops, plus a good variety of pubs, bars and restaurants. All within easy reach of the house. This is a great place to stay if you’re watching or taking part in an event at the nearby Thruxton Motorsport Centre, where the British Touring Cars and British Superbikes hold race meetings. Also stay here if you’re planning a visit to one of Andover’s museums, including the Museum of Army Flying and the Museum of the Iron Age. You could do a day trip to Stonehenge and Woodhenge or have a tour of the Bombay Saphire Gin Distillery. If you have kids Paulstons Park and Peppa Pig World are close by as is Hawk Conservancy and Finkley Down Farm. Motisfont National Trust house and riverside Gardens are Leckford Estate are also worth a visit.
