My family and I have stayed here many times and yet again it didn't disappoint.Very central location just behind the high street in walking distance of local shops and amenities. The cottage is very spacious spread over three floors which easily accommodated the four adults, two young children and the dog in our party. We had excellent weather during our stay there in fact the hottest week of the year,we were grateful of the fan in the lounge. We would certainly recommend it to friends.

The house (it is not, by any measure, a cottage - it is a modern 3 story town house) is quite spacious and reasonably well equipped. Whilst it was very clean in general, many items of kitchen equipment - cooking utensils, pots, pans, oven trays etc needed cleaning before use. This was disapppointing as the kitchen is spacious with plenty of storage. The bedding was way too warm for the time of year and such a well insulated property and it was only halfway through the week that we docscovered a thinner duvet in a wardrobe in the 'chill out room' (or as we called it, the waste of space). But there was just one duvet and 4 beds. Also my daughter has allergies and there were only feather duvets and pillow cases so these were aggravating her asthma the whole week. The layout is as described but nontheless somewhat frustrating with the living room/lounge being on the first floor. However the major issue with the master bedroom (facing the front of the house) was the church bells - we love to hear bells but not every 15 minutes night and day - and not just a single chime but a tune. as such we barely got more than 3 hours sleep a night. As the room is on the top storey, the heat rises and it's impossible to sleep with no ventilation, but there was no way of opening the velux window in the dressing room so we had to leave the french doors open at night which let in far more noise from the bells. Another issue was one of the stairwell lights was broken (and there is no natural light there) which was dangerous at night. There were no spare bulbs of the correct type, but even of there were there was no safe way to change it wothout a set of steps. We repported this but was not fixed until Monday (so 2 nights without it) Final problem was the cottage was mis-described in terms of equipment - it was stated that there was a washer dryer - but it was only a washing machine. We had to but a hook from the hardware shop and erect the washing line to dry our clothes.

Fantastic house, very comfortable , clean and great location. Well equipped and would visit again. Drawbacks were lack of outdoor space for eating out (we visited in April so not such an issue but would have been disappointed in summer) and church bells every 15 minutes were annoying.

This is an excellent cottage which was clean, warm, well equipped and very comfortable. It's location near to the centre of Alnwick is great for enjoying the local facilities and the variety of local products which are available. The only issue we would raise relates to rubbish disposal: we arrived on a Thursday the day after the bin should have been emptied: it was full and would not be emptied again for 2 weeks. Whilst we managed to deal with our rubbish there needs to be some better management arrangements put in place.

The town house is ideally situated for exploring the area and Alnwick itself. The house is well presented and is very well equipped and comfortable. It is a very warm and cosy for a winter visit. Parking for one car only but a long stay free car park is close by. There is a tiny back yard but this has never been a problem in our numerous stays as the house is so well located.

A great family holiday in a very comfortable house. Always a pleasure to return to Alnwick and this property is ideally positioned to walk into town, visit the castle and spend a good few hours in Barter Books. I would certainly stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it.
