As it was away from it all there were no local shops, cafes or pubs close by but we did not expect any but enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location.

The cottage is in a delightful rural setting and was central to making family visits and viewing attractions in the area. John and Jill, our hosts, were very welcoming.

A lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings with great views over the fields. The cottage is clean and well equipped. We didn’t want for anything. The owners, Jill & John, are very friendly and helpful. They provided a cream tea on arrival plus some of John’s home-made chutney and freshly picked flowers from their garden. Not only that, they provided the same for our second week – now that’s a first. Jill keeps feeders in front of the cottage well stocked to attract lots of birds and Herons can be seen regularly in the ‘Rhynes’ (streams) across the field. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to return in the future.

As near perfect as can be. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing and Jill is the perfect hostess. Only a couple of very tiny matters. Really needs a shelf in the bathroom and some pegs on the bathroom door. Also a couple of pegs for jackets on the back of the front door or in that area. Otherwise, GREAT.???

Everything about the cottage was excellent... privacy, quietness, comfort, cleanliness, hot water, heating, facilities, watching the birds on the feeders, the sheep in the fields, the views, the extras from Jill. Selected in part based on location and reviews, we were not disappointed. Would return, and we’re fussy so that’s a huge recommendation!

This is the best place we have stayed for comfort, cleanliness and friendliness of the owners. We wouldn't hesitate to book again if we needed a holiday in the area. It is easy to get to Bristol, Bath, Clevedon, Wells, Cheddar etc. The location is convenient for the motorway or the A38 but still situated in a very quiet area surrounded by fields. The lane from Banwell to Four Jays is fairly narrow but with plenty of passing places it isn't a problem.

Our fist impression was how clean and bright the cottage was. Jill welcomed us with a cream tea and her homemade jam, delicious. We also had homemade chutney which John had made, equally delicious, plus tomatoes and cucumber which they had grown. I had quite a few chats with Jill about places to visit in and around Weston Super Mare. The cottage was very comfortable and peaceful, just what you need after a full day out. Local pub is a pleasant walk away of a mile and very welcoming. There is a great walk in Banwell up Dark Lane with fantastic views. Would definitely recommend Four Jays Cottage.
