This is the best place we have stayed for comfort, cleanliness and friendliness of the owners. We wouldn't hesitate to book again if we needed a holiday in the area. It is easy to get to Bristol, Bath, Clevedon, Wells, Cheddar etc. The location is convenient for the motorway or the A38 but still situated in a very quiet area surrounded by fields. The lane from Banwell to Four Jays is fairly narrow but with plenty of passing places it isn't a problem.

Our fist impression was how clean and bright the cottage was. Jill welcomed us with a cream tea and her homemade jam, delicious. We also had homemade chutney which John had made, equally delicious, plus tomatoes and cucumber which they had grown. I had quite a few chats with Jill about places to visit in and around Weston Super Mare. The cottage was very comfortable and peaceful, just what you need after a full day out. Local pub is a pleasant walk away of a mile and very welcoming. There is a great walk in Banwell up Dark Lane with fantastic views. Would definitely recommend Four Jays Cottage.

Marvellous holiday, the cottage is really nice, very clean and equipped with everything we needed, surrounded by fields so very peaceful. The owners are very friendly and helpful, cream tea when we arrived and they gave us some lovely garden produce, they even helped us when we had a flat tyre and took the tyre to the garage for us. We had good weather and visited a place of interest every day.

Probably the best holiday cottage I have stayed at. Everything you need for your stay is in the cottage. If you can't find something, make sure you look, as it will be there. Jill and John, the owners, are lovely people and do everything they can to make sure you have a great holiday. As others have said, the jam, chutney, milk and cakes are a very nice gesture. There were even flowers, even though I was a man on my own. The farm is a working farm, with show sheep. I was lucky enough to be invited to help in preparing the sheep for a show and was then invited to go to the show and show some sheep. Although a bit isolated, there is plenty to see and do within a short driving distance. I visited some National Trust properties and went to Wetson-Super-Mare. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are also within easy driving distance. All-in-all this was a great week away and would highly reccomend Four Jays Cottage.

A much needed holiday break at short notice which with the benefit of good weather was just what we required. The welcome, not forgetting being rescued on being lost initially by John, was so kind and friendly and during our stay.

We had a lovely holiday at four jays cottage. Seeing the sheep in the field and my wife feed one just one day old. Mrs swain was very helpful. Good location to visit places.

We were delighted with Four Jays Cottage when we arrived for our week's holiday, it was spotless clean and furnished to a high standard, one of the best cottages we have stayed in. The only thing missing for my wife was a 'grab rail' in the shower over the bath, as she has balance problem, apart from this small observation everything was perfect!!

Fantastic cottage, incredibly helpful hosts and plenty of sheep and birds to entertain. The bed is gigantic and unusually large cupboard space.

Absolutely fantastic. Such a cosy place to stay. Fully fitted little kitchen including a dishwasher and tablets. It had everything you'd need including the bits you'd think you needed to take.... foil, film, washing up inc tea towels, cooking oil & cleaning. Comfy sofa with dining for two. Lots of books & dvds to choose from. The bathroom has a large bath with brilliant shower and comes with plenty of towels & loo roll. The bedroom is stunning. What a huge bed! Blimey it was comfortable. Vanity unit with stool, bedside drawers & lamps. In the first of the 3 doors is the washer dryer and tablets, I the next are shelves with extra bedding & towels and a wash basket. The third door is a good sized wardrobe with the rail at a good height (I took a full length coat and it didn't touch the floor). Outside there are chairs on the veranda, a cute picnic bench on the grass and round the corner a washing line and gas now.

Four Jays Cottage is a genuinely lovely place to stay. Even though sited on a working farm, it is so quiet and peaceful. John and Jill are great hosts, kind and thoughtful. Home made jam and chutney a lovely touch. Feeding the lambs with Jill was a new and enjoyable experience. Would love to stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.
