This is a very nice quirky cottage in the centre of Middleham. It was not made clear just how many, sometimes irregular, steps there are in the property. We were just about OK but older people might well have had a problem. The kitchen is very well appointed but there are a number of steps down to the living room. To go to the toilet from the lounge means going upstairs to the kitchen or upstairs even further to the third floor of the building. If sleeping in the twin room, toilet facilities were not available on the same level. There were two of us staying in the cottage which made it quite pricey. There was no welcome basket. This you get in a lot of places charging prices like this.

It is a lovely property, finished to a very high standard. There is a shop immediately opposite which sells the essentials and has a ATM. There is a pub next which is convienient, but also slightly annoying if you want an early night as the smokers can be noisy. There are 4 pubs within minutes walk of the property and Leyburn is 5 minutes in a car sells all you need. The house is on many levels and with steep steps it may not be suitable for those unsteady on their feet. I would happily stay here again.
