We spent a wonderful week at the Gables as a family of 4 adults and 2 under 5's. it was ideal for all our age ranges. We would definatly stay here again as there is also so many places and things to do around the area. Safe and pleasant gardens that would be ideal as a holiday base for someone with dogs too.

Holiday was lovely as we had my family staying with us who don’t have a holiday usually also had other celebrations nearby to attend.Gables was perfect for us very quiet, lovely garden and plenty of room.My hubby and I had upstairs bedroom with its own veranda and lounge area, though that was used by me as I am an early riser, also had our own bathroom, the shower was lovely. My sis in law has disabilities so used downstairs bedroom and bathroom with my brother,it was brilliant for them as no steps anywhere to worry about. The owners were very helpful as our dog was poorly so Sarah arranged for us to take him to vets, they were great.Couldnt fault property or area, some people might not like road noise as that could be noisy but got use to it.

We had a lovely stay at Gables Lodge cottage. It's a gorgeous building and the layout is good too. It's quite remote, so it's really quiet (apart from nature, obviously!). Great: - Comfortable beds - Plenty of space - Lovely outside area with table and chairs. Decking and grass so good to relax and good to play - Lovely wildlife - we enjoyed watching the swallows and my toddler liked having sheep in the field next door! - Really big fridge freezer and double oven so lots of space for food! Similarly lots of plates, bowls and cups, and there is a dishwasher too. - Travel cot and high chair are available - Selection of DVDs, books, board games, and a Wii with games in the "snug" if you need activities for the evening - Lots of towels provided - Plenty of seating, including the snug upstairs so you have the option to have everyone together or split into smaller groups - Space to hang wet clothes / towels to dry (although it was in the downstairs bathroom where the boiler had a strong smell, see below) - Boiler good for drying shoes as there is space on top and it's always warm! To be aware: - In my opinion there could be slightly more equipment in the kitchen - for example the colander and sieve provided were very small so when we drained pasta for five people it was a bit challenging! I would have loved a pizza tray too but I know that's quite picky! - We didn't use the balcony because the eaves are inhabited by swallows and so the balcony wasn't that clean. We didn't mind because we liked the swallows, but something to note! - The boiler/heater has a strong smell, so the downstairs bathroom smells very strongly of peat/oil. I did find this made me feel quite headachy, which is a shame because the rest of the house was really lovely. I don't think there is much to be done about it unfortunately, but we just used the ensuite upstairs instead which didn't smell as strongly. - There is no washing machine, which would be handy if you are staying for a long time. - The welcome basket doesn't include milk in the fridge, so you will have tea, coffee and sugar but no milk. It would have been nice just to have one pint in the fridge.

Lovely property in a quiet location. Even though there is a livery & dog sitting business close by no noise problems at all. Owners are lovely people very helpful & friendly. Reason for a 9 on the equipment rating is because there in no washing machine - something we could have done with having a 5yr old granddaughter with us. The matter was raised with the owner who told us they hadn’t been able to fit one. We had a lovely week chilling on the veranda & seeing the area. Would recommend to anyone. As we were there over Easter we were greeted with a large egg included in the welcome pack.

We had a lovley short break here with my partner and our 7 month old daughter. The lodge is very cosy and Homely with everything you could need for your stay. Lots of space in the lodge to with an outside balcony upstairs and plenty of outside seating and areas for the summer months. Sarah was always available to contact whenever we needed and provided extra baby high chairs and cots for us. We will most definelty visit again, hopefully for longer next time. We really recommend the lodge for family's or breaks with friends.

amazing quiet location - down the end of farm track and right next door to the friendly owners. When you arrive it is a bit of a surprise to see a busy yard ahead of you but aside from the odd vehicle coming in and going out you won't notice it. Fields to the front and rear with a beautiful sun rise to greet you and a wonderful sunset to end the day. Ample parking, beautiful quiet, warm home with comfortable beds, all kitchen equipment you'd need, two bathrooms, two lounges and a big garden, with loads of parking. Not far from the main road, but you won't hear it or be aware of it. So all of the convenience of easy access without the disadvantage of any noise. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - we all loved it
