    This spacious and traditional Galloway cottage sits within its own 2-acre, enclosed, private walled garden for the exclusive use for guests to enjoy. Situated on the Kirkdale Estate and only a short walk from the historic Cairnholy, the property offers coastal and woodland walks direct from the door. There is also a tennis court available on the estate.
    For the outdoor enthusiast Dumfries and Galloway offers hill walking, mountain biking and water-sports, with many renowned gardens and ancient woodland to explore with a chance to glimpse the abundant wildlife. The area is well recognised for its clear skies, as one of the twelve best stargazing sites in the world and the first Dark Sky Park in the UK.
    Gatehouse of Fleet, the food town of Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright, are all within a short drive. Gatehouse of Fleet offers a wider range of places to eat and drink, and there are many attractions in and around the town including the Mill on the Fleet visitor centre, Cardoness Castle and the popular Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre which is host to one of Europe’s longest zip wires. Kirkcudbright attracts visitors throughout the year drawn by the harbour, the historic high street and the diverse range of annual events and visitor attractions. The popular programme of summer festivities culminates with the spectacular tattoo, an event not to be missed. Beach 3 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles, restaurant 1 mile.

    The Garden Cottage is a wonderfully tranquil, private and comfortable place to stay yet it is within easy reach of all the amenities you could desire. The owner greeted us on the evening of our arrival and was very helpful in answering our queries about the neighbouring areas and facilities.

    We received a lovely warm welcome from the owner Neil when we arrived at this beautiful cottage. Both the cottage and garden are beautiful with top quality furnishings and accessories. The standard of cleanliness was top notch and we will definitely return.

    lovely clean spacious cottage with fabulous walled garden. well equipped kitchen. lovely surroundings . lots to do in the area if you choose to or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. plenty of places to eat in nearby gatehouse of fleet. larger supermarkets either in Newton Stewart or Castle Douglas approx 15 miles either side of Garden Cottage. Already booked for next Year.

    The cottage is beautiful but the garden WOW ! My holidays are for me to enjoy time with my dogs and this cottage certainly enabled me to do that. A proper gem and I can't wait to return a lovely welcome pack and the owners are on hand should you need them but don't invade your privacy. Thank you for sharing this beautiful cottage.
