Quirky cottage in lovely peaceful location with nice walks nearby. Cottage would benefit from some updating and some basic maintenance, particularly bathroom and kitchen.

Enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing Christmas break at Garth Cottage. It is cosy comfortable and well equipped. We don't live too far away so were fairly familiar with area. Lovely beaches for dog walks and Louth always worth a visit especially a walk round Hubbards Hills. Also within easy reach of other places of interest. We were welcomed with a tea tray and complimentary shortcakes and milk in the fridge which were much appreciated.

We used Garth Cottage as a base to visit friends near Scunthorpe, the cottage was lovely & the local & surrounding areas were worth the visit despite it being a wet & windy weekend!

Charming cottage, very rural. If you're looking for entertainment then go elsewhere. If you would like peace and quiet this is a perfect place. The host is very helpful. I will be booking again. My 2 dogs loved it, beaches 10 miles away. Fantastic!

Garth Cottage is very cosy and comfortable. It is nicely furnished, and is perfect for two families as the cottage layout means both would have their own space and facilities. The heating is very efficient even when very cold outside. The owner is friendly and welcoming and there are lovely touches like tea, coffee, milk, sugar and a cake on arrival - these things make all the difference. It's important to note that there is no mobile signal on EE and no Wi-Fi - however we knew this beforehand and it was actually a plus for us - reading and playing board games rather than being on phones all the time! There are some great takeaways in Louth (10 mins drive) as well as an excellent leisure centre with a very good swimming pool. We had a lovely week and will visit again.

We enjoyed our holiday very much. The property was ideal for two couples, giving us a wing each with our own bath / shower rooms. Our only negative was that we wish we'd been aware beforehand that, as well as no wifi (as we'd expected, really) there was no phone signal, so we were completely out of contact with elderly relatives and other dependents and had to make other arrangements for them. Clearly from the comments book some visitors have relished that, although I'd point out to them they could just switch their phones off to get the same effect.

The actual area where we stayed was great. This first part of the week was very relaxing and gave us the chance to rest, but as the week went on - and lying out in the garden - there was a rat by the shed at the back of the garden. This was coped with as long as it stayed where it was. But! Alas, more rats appeared this made one feel very uncomfortable in the small garden and we retreated to us the chairs supplied. I when then interrupted once more whilst reading. Two rats ran out on me and virtually across my feet. That was it for me I could not relax so much any more. I am afraid the rats were running around the house - not inside - thank God, that would have been it! When finishing our stay we did leave a note to the owner, but did not put it in their visitors book. Just hoped the problem would we cleared up. It might be the fact that not taking a pet into the property made the rodents more comfortable to roam. Non the less it did put thoughts in minds through the holiday. Also the owner had her off spring visiting which made the surrounding tranquillity hard to obtain. But we did notice that they were evacuating the area as much as possible, which in our book means the owners done their bit to keep things tranquil. We did not want to discuss the problem at the time for we needed a rest and I was recovering from a bad illness. If things had got worse then it would have been a game changer.
