We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. It was clean and welcoming, just what you want to see when you’ve not been there before. The village is very pretty and we did not have to go far to find lovely walks on the fells. Everyone in the village was friendly, and the owners were on hand at the farm next door should we have wanted anything. We will definitely return for another visit in the near future. Thank you for letting us share your cosy cottage. It was hard to leave.

Gates Bridge was adequate, no more. The kitchen was freezing cold, the rest of the property cool.

Christmas at Gates Bridge Cottage was wonderful! This was my second festive visit and nothing disappointed. The parking space is right beside it and so easy to find (excellent directions emailed in advance) and the cottage was so cosy and warm and the welcoming outside light had been left on. There were even some very tasteful decorations, a nice tree, a bottle of fizz and basic essentials in the delightful and very well-equipped kitchen. The cottage was as clean throughout as I remembered it from four years ago and, with kindling and an overflowing log basket, the log burner was on the go in no time at all. I particularly appreciated the outside drying room with its running water, additional freezer space, washing machine and plenty of room to clean up the muddiest of dogs before they get anywhere near the log burner (very handy indeed). It really is an excellent little cottage in a terrific and easily accessible location (assuming you have a car) and I couldn’t think of anywhere better for a wonderful break!

Great little cottage and ideal for us (2 adults, 1 dog). Good location within the village with tea shops and pub near by. Also well located for walking and visiting other parts of the northern lakes.

This was our second visit to Gates Bridge Cottage, lovely cottage, lovely locations, what more could we say!

A 5 night stay in this wonderful cottage in the heart of the village of Caldbeck. The cottage had everything we needed and was perfect for the two of us and our small dog. Location was great for local walks around the village and further afield near Keswick. Would highly recommend and come back again

Gates Bridge Cottage was a really good find close to all the amenities that the village has including the shop, pub and tea rooms. It's always an added bonus to find petrol in a village of this size too. The local community was very welcoming and gave us sound advice and a tick remover to borrow. Some days we just chilled in the village and others we went exploring but to be truthful with scenery this amazing; why would you want to leave? A very enjoyable stay thank you.

A very pleasant cottage, perfect for two visiting the North of the Lake District. Clean, tidy and well equipped. Lots of places to walk locally, great local shop and a nice pub on the doorstep.
