We wondered where we are going down the track but we got a wonderful surprise, a beautiful view, a lovely setup, plenty of room, underfloor heating which my dog loved, a nice walk to the village with a good selection of food outlets. The property is in a good place to explore the Peak District and the surrounding area. When the present madness has pass we will book again. We meet the landlords mother who was a lovely lady and she introduced us to some people who where walking passed and we all had a lovely chat, thank you.

A lovely cottage in a peaceful setting, yet very close to everything you need. Great for dogs and families

Great weekend and will be booking again for later in the year

We love this barn and are planning to return for a third time next month. Set in a rural setting but with a short walk into Wirksworth. Great for our dog as it has an enclosed garden and plenty of walks nearby.

We had a lovely stay, but we found the beds were so soft there was no support, also no hand rails to aid mobility in and out of the bath or a slip mat! All round though a lovely cottage in a lovely area

A wonderful spot for a relaxing break. Beautiful scenery, walks from the doorstep and a friendly town just down the path. Well equipped cottage and the garden was perfect for the dog plus plenty of parking for visiting sons. We can’t wait to go back.

George Mine Barn is a great place for a holiday. It's smaller than expected but well equipped. The walk into Wirksworth is a bit hilly but the town is really nice.

First impression was what a lovely location until I realised that people walk right past every 15mins, more privacy in the garden would be better. Having stayed in many cottages this is my 4th this year, this one is over priced especially as they class it as 6 berth when it should be 4! A better outside light as that one isn’t adequate hardly lights up. Finally the cleaners waiting before checkout time is very poor never encountered this ever! They shouldn’t turn up BEFORE, putting pressure on people to leave. Also the grass needed cutting was very long.

was very disappointed with the cottage for the money we paid. Not enough room to put your hanging clothes, no room to put food in the kitchen, only the fridge/freezer! I can't possibly think of 6 people staying there as there wasn't enough room for the 2 of us! The garden needed work doing to it. High hedges all round would have been nice, so the people walking past to go to the village every 5 mins wouldn't encroach on your privacy! Also if your over 65 this isn't the area for you. Its all up and down steep roads to walk anywhere!
