Perfect for family seaside holidays and relaxing winter escapes, this extremely comfortable detached cottage enjoys a lovely rural location with views across to the mountains of Snowdonia and makes a perfect spot to enjoy a holiday or short break in the countryside.
Nearby on the farm there are three other holiday cottages and the owner’s fishery, which is a five lake coarse and trout fishing complex. Guests staying at Glas y Dorlan enjoy a fifty percent reduction in the cost of their fishing (an additional small charge is made for trout taken for the table).
The fishery is situated 500 yards away from the cottage along a private driveway and also features a pretty lakeside café, serving breakfasts, light lunches, coffee and cakes. The owner also offers an arrival meal at the cottage, by prior arrangement and additional charge.
Situated on a working sheep farm, this is the perfect location for exploring both coast and countryside, with wonderful walks from the doorstep. The popular coastal village of Criccieth, 2 miles, has two beautiful sandy beaches, magnificent ancient castle ruins and a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Porthmadog, 3 miles, is the departure point for wonderful steam train journeys on the world famous Ffestiniog Railway as it winds its way through spectacular scenery up into the Snowdonia Mountains. The pretty Italianate village of Portmeirion, location of the cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’, is also close by. The surrounding Snowdonia National Park offers a myriad of outdoor pursuits suitable for all ages. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pubs and restaurants 2 miles.
Glas y Dorlan can be booked together with Bwthyn Bach (26687), Ty Mawr (OCC) and Eisteddfa (UK6551) to accommodate up to 24 guests.
