A very rural setting, more so than we expected but it was perfect for us. Lots of land, amazing views, well equipped. We couldn't ask for more. The weather forecast for our stay was for rain so we came supplied with indoor entertainment but 2 of the days were just right for long walks along Hadrian's wall with the babies in slings as prams no good. Nearby Cawfield Quarry was certainly worth a short drive but note the 4 mile circular walk was challenging at times. Bring plenty of water with you .

We had a lovely week at Glen Garth. The location was excellent for walking as Hadrians Wall goes through the village and numerous opportunities for sight seeing within a short drive. Very good pub within a short walk offering delicious food- booking advised as can get very busy. The large garden was lovely and had superb. The bungalow was very well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Judith and Alan were wonderful hosts . Thank you

Nice big Bungalow in a great location for the wall (and pubs). We were met by the owner at the property, who barked out "don't walk mud into the carpets like the last lot!". Noticed that there was no coffee filters for the cofee filter machine so asked the owner for some, she said she'd bring some round later, didn't see her again. On one of the days, after a long day walking, I was rudley awoken by the gardener mowing the lawn right in front of the window at 7pm! This went on for about an hour. A knock on the door or a courtisy call is all it takes. Despite these people we still had a good time.

This is a great cottage in a stunning setting. Warm and cosy, fully equipped with everything we needed and wonderfully comfortable beds. The bungalow was spotlessly clean and elegantly furnished with amazing views from all windows. The dog particularly enjoyed the extensive garden and we hope to return soon to witness another season in this beautiful part of the country. Great walks along Hadrians Wall straight from the doorstep and a fantastic cooked breakfast at the House of Meg cafe completed a lovely weekend for three generations and the dog. Thanks to Judith for being a great hostess. The Cross Family

Lovely weekend at this perfectly situated cottage. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Milk and wine left in fridge on arrival. We could walk from the door to Hadrian's wall and there was an all day tearoom close by serving breakfast and lunch etc, plus an excellent pub for evening meals. The car stayed on the drive! No shops nearby but the tearoom had a few emergency items.

A lovely place in a beautiful garden with wonderful views. Peaceful and quiet but with plenty of activities in the area. The owners and neighbours were friendly but not intrusive, there was everything provided to make out holiday a very comfortable one. We would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday home to either young or old.
