Situated in a spectacular location in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, this beautifully converted, pet friendly cottage was originally part of a steading close to the birthplace of Rob Roy McGregor, commonly known as Rob Roy, or alternatively Red MacGregor, a famous Scottish folk hero and outlaw of the early 18th Century, who is sometimes known as the Scottish Robin Hood. The cottage is ideal for couples and sits in a tranquil corner at the side of Loch Katrine (Glengyle) with views of the loch and surrounding hills of Ben Lomond, Ben Ledi and Ben Venue. This is the perfect location from which to absorb one of Scotland’s most picturesque areas. The cottage is perfect for couples, fishermen, walkers, cyclists or someone looking to get away from the hustle of everyday life. The loch is surrounded by a private road and offers a quiet environment to walk, see the fantastic wildlife (deer, polecats, red squirrels and wild goats), offering pitch black skies with no light pollution and stunning waterfalls.Situated in a spectacular location in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, these two beautifully converted, pet friendly cottages were originally part of a steading close to the birthplace of Rob Roy McGregor, commonly known as Rob Roy, or alternatively Red MacGregor, a famous Scottish folk hero and outlaw of the early 18th Century, who is sometimes known as the Scottish Robin Hood. A lovely cottage in a remote location. The cottage had everything we could need plus some extras. It would benefit from a way of being able to open the bedroom windows without attracting local midge population or some sort of mosquito net over the bed

This is a lovely cottage on the banks of Loch Katrine. It is extremely remote, which suited me as this was exactly what I was looking for, however, there are no local amenities at all, which may not suit everyone. Bring enough food to last for your stay, there is a fridge with a small freezer unit. The local shops are maybe a 30/45 minute drive. The property is very comfortable, and very clean, sleeps two, the bedroom is large with plenty of storage space. Karen, the owner, is very helpful if there are any issues. Recommended.

We loved this cottage. Karen called round shortly after we arrived to ensure we had everything we needed but there was really no need as the cottage was well equiped and furnished. There was even flowers and tea and coffee facilities ready for us. The countryside was spectacular and it is a wonderful place to get away from it all

Cottage was wonderful clean and tidy. There was welcoming goodies off the owners very nice. We did what we needed to do on this holiday and was relax which the cottage was perfect for. The only down side was the midgies take some repellent with you.

Michael & Karen are fabulous hosts, the welcome pack and flowers were much appreciated. The cottage was warm and comfortable. Due to my mothers mobility we couldn't do many of the walks around the loch but Karen's knowledge ensured we had plenty of places to visit. I would recommend the three lochs drive, Inversnaid and Inchmahome Priory. The café at Stronachlochar is dog friendly and have a good choice of food. The wildlife is amazing - visited by badgers and a fox each evening I thoroughly enjoyed my chats with Karen and Michael especially as we appeared to have the same sense of humour and wish them well.

Cannot fault the quality or comfort of the cottage. Made very welcome, and support well beyond what you would expect. I would have no worries on recommending the cottage to friends, family or colleagues.
