A warm Highland welcome awaits you at Glen View. Enjoying a tranquil wooded setting, Glen View has been equipped and furnished to a very good standard to meet all your requirements. Nestling against the side of the hill, the house is only four miles from the lovely village of Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness, and makes the perfect base for exploring the many attractions and amenities along with the stunning beauty of this part of the Northern Highlands.
Drumnadrochit has a good selection of restaurants and bars, with Inverness, the Highland Capital, just 18 miles away, where you will find an extensive range of shops, restaurants, theatre, galleries and swimming pools, to name just a few of the amenities. On the edge of Drumnadrochit you will find Urquhart Castle, a very popular visitor attraction, or go to Jacobite Cruises where you can enjoy a boat trip on Loch Ness – a good monster spotting area! Slightly further afield, you can visit Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor and Brodie Castles, and Fort George, or meander along some of the beautiful Moray coastline beaches which have been named in the top twelve of the world’s most beautiful and unspoilt coastlines.
Take a trip along the Malt Whisky Trail – the only one of its kind in the world! To the west and within a short drive you will find the beautiful Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you can walk and hill climb, or also enjoy some of the area’s finest mountain bike trails. Visit the beautiful Isle of Skye, and stop on the way to visit the much photographed Eilean Donan Castle. Travel south and visit Fort William where you can hike up Ben Nevis (the UK’s highest mountain), or take the ski lift up Aonach Mor for some skiing. From both locations you will have spectacular views across the area.
Amongst the many activities available in the locality, there are many golf courses within easy reach, mountain biking on numerous trails, hill climbing, walking with many forest trails on the doorstep, a variety of water sports on Loch Ness or the Moray coastline, and skiing and snowboarding in the Cairngorms or the Nevis range. For the less energetic, sit back, relax and enjoy the ever changing scenery. A trip to this area will always evoke happy memories.

Very nice comfortable family cottage in a touristic environment. The cottage itself is in a very quiet place.

This cottage is an ideal base for visiting a wide range of attractions from John O'Groats downwards, but we wanted a lazy restoring break and it was just the thing from that point of view too. Peaceful yet with local amenities (shop, cafe, pub etc) just down the road and Inverness not far should you need a bigger supermarket. And of course the wonderful Loch Ness a stone's throw away! The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and with lots of thoughtful little touches. The only negative for us was the lack of rail by the downstairs toilet for one of our party who uses a wheelchair, but the moment we mentioned this to the owners Roz and Martin they were keen to see about installing one. A friendly welcome in a beautiful place and we'd definitely come again!

Area is amazing so much to see and do. Cottage was comfortable in lounge and had a well equipped kitchen. The beds were very uncomfortable, mattresses were topped with 4” thick foam, I assume because the mattresses were worn out, but this made the beds very uncomfortable to sleep in. The bedrooms were ok but carpets and furnishings were tired. Bathrooms were ok but again really need updating. The garden is lovely for wildlife, we saw a woodpecker and plenty of varieties of birds but you can’t use it for sitting out. There is a deck at the front, accessed from the kitchen and the lounge which is nice if the weather is good.

This cottage has been one of the best, we holiday in cottages all over and none have been as clean, well equipped or as comfortable as this. The owners are very welcoming and easy to get along with. As there was just the 2 of us + our dog we just used the downstairs of the cottage, which was lovely. We would highly recommend this cottage, we are hoping to re-book for next autumn.

Lovely, clean, well equipped cottage. Had a fantastic holiday at Glen View, could not fault anything. Owners stay next to cottage but are not intrusive and are very helpful, nothing is a problem.

We visited in February so some restaurants were closed, there is a new well stocked Co-Op nearby so self-catering was no problem. The ground floor bedroom and en-suite are fully accessible.

The best equipped holiday cottage we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot!). It is a lovely house with plenty of space, there were only two of us and we were spoilt for choice when it came to seats and beds. Martin and Roz are both lovely, helpful and available but not at all intrusive. The house is spotlessly clean (you would never guess other people have stayed there with dogs) and the welcome basket is incredible. We would not hesitate to stay here again and can wholeheartedly recommend it to others!!

Been to cottage before and will definitely be back again. It’s in an ideal setting for peace and quiet but also beautiful for people who like to walk/hike. It is very disabled friendly with large living room and kitchen and downstairs Double bedroom has wet room en-suite with shower seat attached to wall. It’s ideal for me and also my late Husband loved coming here. Cottage owners are very friendly and approachable and a basket of essentials like bread, eggs and even a bottle of wine are left for arrival. Cannot give good enough review for this cottage.

We have stayed in many cottages throughout the UK & Ireland and this is by far the best. Catered very well for our mum's disabilities and it was so cosy, a true 'home from home'

Last week in August first week in September & we had a fantastic time. Out every day & it was nice to come back to a place that felt like a home from home. Martin & Roz (the owners) could not have been more friendly & welcoming without being interfering. The property was lovely, comfortable & clean, the kitchen is very well equipped with all the pots & pans & baking/roasting trays you'll ever need, there are also 2 full size ovens. The beds are the best I've ever slept in in a rental, & the on suite wet room was a bonus.
