Glencoe is an iconic Scottish location in the Highlands where visitors enjoy soaking up the atmosphere. From the charming villages of Glencoe and Ballachulish to the remarkable mountains and glens there is so much to see and do in the area. There’s a host of outdoor activities including water sports, Segway’s, skiing, mountain biking and ice climbing nearby as well as the opportunity to visit Glen Etive where 007 has been filmed. Anything is possible, just remember to plan in advance and prepare for all types of weather. After a day’s escapades, you can put your feet up in a cosy traditional pub and enjoy a distinctly flavoured Highland single malt. You can also indulge in the local delicacies at cafes and craft shops dotted about the area.
Ballachulish is a lovely highland village with many amenities including small supermarket, doctor’s surgery, tourist information with coffee shop and a bar/ restaurant. The nearby village of Glencoe, just about 1 mile’s walk from the Glencoe View, has a minimarket, cafe, hotel, pub, filling station, church and dentists and there are some fabulous restaurants, cafes, and pubs nearby, all serving good, local food. If you are looking for a scenic drive, then we recommend a trip to Cuil Bay and Port Appin.
