The apartment itself was lovely. The village and local pub was nice. The access is a little strenuous if are not able to get about well. You enter through the rear garden and down the garden which has a steep gradient. There is then a flight of steps onto the decking area, further steps down to a path, then steps up to the access to the apartment. The car parking place is on the sea front, so again you need to go up through the garden to then go down a steep road to the car. Like as I said, this is a lovely apartment and location and the access wouldn’t stop me booking again ?

Can't take anything away from the apartment and the views across the firth, it's bright, clean and there's everything you'll need for a relaxing break. The access is a problem though, especially for anybody with limited mobility. The climb up the hill to the gate at the rear of the property and the steep grassy slope and steps back down to the entrance are far from ideal. It's not practical to sit out at the back, part of the terrace is also accessed by the café below and is on view from their kitchen. Would only recommend to people who accept the challenges posed by the access issues and the limitations of the outside space. That said, we had a great holiday and intend to go back to Kippford in the future.

Beautiful apartment with fantastic views and parking. The access spoilt the holiday for us as the car was parked at the front of the building and to gain access we had to climb a steep hill and down a lawn onto uneven steps before reaching the entrance door. For a younger person this would pose no problems but as pensioners we found this difficult especially when raining!

Pedestrian access to the apartment was up a very steep lane and difficult . There is also a sloping lawn to negotiate along with several steps. Noise from the tearoom below can be extremely disturbing, especially in the late afternoon prior to closing when tables and chairs are moved about during cleaning. Rubbish from the business was stored outside on the mezzanine which we had to walk past daily.

A lovely little apartment with fantastic views. Very cosy, beautifully furnished, well equipped and warm. I was very comfortable here. I was unfortunate that my week coincided with the new owners of the cafe below preparing to re-open it on the Friday of my stay, and noise from the building/general renovation work carried very loudly through the floor. Now it is open, I'm sure this won't be an issue. It should be noted that, because of the new ownership of the shop and cafe being different to Glendower above them, it is no longer possible for people renting the apartment to access it through the back of the shop from the parking space on the front as I believe happened before. Access now involves a walk up the road to the back of the property, and then a walk down a steep garden and down stone steps to the back door. If you have mobility issues, please get advice from the owner to see if this property is suitable for you. It's a lovely place to stay so please don't let this put you off! I managed to carry all my heavy motorbike panniers up and down with no problem. The location of Glendower is great as a base for touring from. I covered nearly all the coast roads on the Solway Firth, went up into Galloway Forest and also in to the hills in the East. There are some good attractions to visit and the Threave Gardens up the road at Castle Douglas are certainly worth a visit. There are also some lovely walks straight out from the apartment itself. If you like astronomy, a clear, dark night provided some fantastic star gazing. Quite amazing how many stars you could see with the naked eye alone. I would certainly recommend staying here. The owner is lovely, and very helpful, and the apartment felt like home.

A lovely spotlessly clean flat. Amazing views. I wouldn't return because of the hill and steps to the property. When the grass was wet it was so slippy to reach the house. Also having parking space down the hill wasn't ideal. If there was a way in from the front of the property I'd definitely rebook. WiFi didn't work all week but with the view it didn't really matter but a point to note for future tenets.
