A lovely cottage well presented in a great location.

Well appointed cottage in a lovely tranquil setting, and well situated for exploring the region. Very clean and welcoming on arrival. Furnishings very tasteful and of a high standard. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay and hope to return.

This is a beautiful cottage. It oozes cozyness. Located on a walking distance from Bodiam castle, and a 10 minute car ride from supermarkets. 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, lovely living room, spacious kitchen, very light orangery, magnificent garden. Parking on own ground. It truly is a beautiful cottage. With 1 big but. The beams in the cottage are low. Very low. My family is a bit tall (parents and daughter are all 6 ft, our son is 6’5”, yes we are Dutch), and that makes roaming about the house a dangerous exercise. I did learn some new words this week, not sure when I can use them though.

We have stayed in the area many times before and found Gorse Cottage for a short break. If you want peace and quiet and away from it all that is what you get. The quirky cottage was very comfortable and clean and has everything you need to make it a home from home. It is a very individual property with a good mix of the old and new which made for an enjoyable and relaxing break.

A homely, well equipped cottage which was spotlessly clean. Fab outdoor eating patio. Well located for a multitude of visitor attractions.

We stayed in Gorse Cottage for two weeks, and it really was home from home. The house is lovely (one the loveliest we ever stayed in, to be honest), beautifully decorated and very well equipped. The garden is really welcoming. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would love to be back. Unfortunately, we forgot one piece of luggage when we left, but the owners were very helpful. There is a nice pub in Ewhurst Greene, and we also liked the Castle Inn opposite Bodiam Castle, both are a 10-15 miuntes stroll away (although we had many meals at home...we really loved the beautiful kitchen/dining area).
