    This bright and spacious terraced property is located right in the heart of the village of Staveley, a perfect gateway to explore the Lake District, nearby Howgill Fells and the Yorkshire Dales. The airy living/dining room offers plenty of comfort for all, with large patio doors opening onto the rear riverside terrace, which overlooks the River Gowan flowing past directly under the terrace. Three very comfortable bedrooms offer views of the surrounding countryside, and there is a family bathroom along with the additional benefit of a downstairs toilet. Outside, a further enclosed garden to the front can be found, along with a parking space and a garage for storing your bikes during your stay.
    Hawkshead Brewery is just a short stroll away, so take advantage of being able to taste their beers and leave the car at home. You can enjoy breakfast at one of the village’s cafés, again within easy walking distance, and a great way to start off the day. The bustling town centre of Kendal is just 10 minutes’ drive, and a little further you are in the beautiful central Lake District where you can taste Grasmere gingerbread, take a cruise on Lake Windermere or simply get out and walk some of Lakeland’s finest fells. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

    Lovely central place to stay. Pity about the neighbours and parking. Next door is digging up his garden and neighbour rude about parking, which is extremely tight. Shame otherwise would have been 10 for location.

    We spent 5 nights in this lovely holiday accommodation and would thoroughly recommend it. The kitchen was well equipped, beds comfortable and lots of dvd's, cd's and books to browse through. We had marvellous weather so we could also sit out on the patio in the evening. Beautifully situated for local walks and further afield. Local Spar shop very good.

    Beautiful location by a stream. Lovely neighbours and area. Plenty to do in The Lakes, which is not too far from this location. We will definitely be coming back. Overall a lovely house and fully equipped with essentials :)

    A lovely spacious holiday let. All the furnishings and equipment are of a very high standard and there are plenty of utensils, plates etc (unlike some lets where you get just 4 of everything). It feels like a home from home. The view from the lounge area is lovely and had it been warmer we would have enjoyed the outside seating area.....even though it isn't private. Guests will need to bring their own hairdryer (I know it is low on the list of priorities) and we couldn't find an iron (again very low priority unless you are with children/messy husbands who need to have clothes washed regularly!!!) There are some lovely walks from Staveley village and several cafes (I recommend Wilfs) and one good pub (The Eagle and Child). We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in Staveley away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere, Keswick etc. We will definitely stay at Gowan again.....too good not to.
