The sun room looks out onto the large lawned garden which extends to half an acre. Hornsea with its Pottery Mere and Freeport outlet village is close by and the beautiful town of Beverley is just 17 miles away. Visit the RSPB Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve with its spectacular seabird colonies and enjoy the cliff-top position of Sewerby Hall and Gardens.     We chose this cottage because it looked cosy and had character. The cottage was nice but it was dirty. The shower was grimy, the radiator tops were dusty, the light switches dirty, the kitchen cupboards shelves were full of dust and some of the pots in them were stuck to the shelves and worst of all the carpet, sofa and cushions smelt of dogs and open fire smell. We have dogs oursleves and know the importance of keeping soft furnishings and carpets cleaned. We left the property after 2 days and requested a refund. This has been denied by the owners as we didn't give them the opportunity to correct the issues. The owners (who clean the property themselves) live just next to the cottage. we had only booked a last minute 5 night break away from the stresses and strains of life and did not want a face to face confrontation. The issues with the property in our opinion could not have been rectified within our stay and certainly not without affecting our holiday. The excuse from the owner is that the cottage is an old converted barn and basically says what do you expect!!!!. I just expected it to be clean.

    Cosy cottage,super location if you bring dogs.Lots of lovely local walks and a huge beach about 10 min walk away.Friendly owners who are there to help if needed.

    Shaun & Irene were friendly & happy to help. The cottage was cosy and the outside space was fantastic for our dogs. Will definitely return very soon.

    We booked this because we were taking our dog with us, we looked for an enclosed garden which this stated it was. When we let our dog out he disappeared, there is access to the road from one side and access to a scrap yard the other. This is no way enclosed. Other than that it needs a good clean as there were dirty cups and cutlery upon arrival, cobwebs in the bedroom. Other than that it was ok, hosts were lovely and friendly.

    lovely welcome. bottle of wine was a lovely touch. the gardens attached to the property were beautiful. washing machine would of been nice but managed without. very relaxing enjoyable stay.

    Clean and cosy barn conversion but a bit dark in the lounge on these dark November evenings, and lounge sofas were a bit uncomfortable. The cottage would be great in spring and summer when you could take full advantage of a very spacious and comfortable conservatory, not to mention the huge garden. The fantastic beach was just an easy 10 minute walk away and the dog and I had it to ourselves. Easy trips out to local coastal resorts.

    Very peaceful location , good accommodation large garden which is very usefull with two large dogs and close to the beach . Second year and booked again for next year . Irene and Shaun both very welcoming and helpfull 10 out of 10 rating .
