Lovely location close to Chipping Camden and Broadway lots of lovely pubs to eat in within 5 minute drive. Very comfortable cottage, in s ideally location, we really enjoyed our stay here. Only negatives would be the stairgate on top step of winding staircase made top of stairs difficult to step onto. Also 2nd toilet is just that a toilet with no sink, you have to wash your hands in kitchen sink, this could be easily rectified by owners.

To start with the positives, nice location, good sized house, lovely furniture and my children really liked their stay here... However, I have to agree with previous reviews of the cottage which mention that is is rundown, the main issues being the taps in the bathroom are no longer attached and spin when you try and use them. There is also black mould in the bathroom and the whole place just feels unloved and not looked after. My main issue was the wasp nest which was first mentioned in a review in June - I did not stay until mid August and the nest was huge to the point where it sounded like a motorbike at night in the front bedroom, and was also loud in the lounge. This meant I did not sleep well all week and was glad to leave.

A beautiful location. Very disappointed with the condition of the garden and the house itself. Reported to the owners in our first of two weeks a few issues we had that were ignored. There was a wasps nest in the front wall of the house between the ground and upper floor. Buzzing could be heard day and night in the living room and main bedroom and we could not open the windows or front door in upper 20oC heat. The lady on the phone said I could get powder in the shop myself to treat it but I felt uncomfortable doing this as I’m not a professional and a guest should not have to carry out pest control on a property they rent. The garden was overgrown and looked nothing like the pictures. Inside the carpets need replacing downstairs. The tumble dryer didn’t work properly and when brought to the owners attention she said they were aware that the dryer and the washer were old and needed replacing and her solution was to use the retractable line in the garden which we couldn’t find. The taps in the upstairs bathroom were both loose and were difficult to turn on and off. There was mould on the upstairs bathrooms ceiling and around the window as well as around the main bedrooms window. In conclusion I felt this property was tired and greatly overpriced for what it was.

I was very disappointed with the state of the property. The carpets and main sofa are in dire need of a deep clean. The cooker needed replacing some years ago as it has no hob ignition bar by a match and the oven is impossible to gauge the heat on as the temperature display is inadequate. The garden was overgrown and needs some attention and if it had looked like it did in the photos it would have been fine - sadly it does not. The stairs carpet is badly fitted and is an accident waiting to happen as the carpet isn't properly fitted at the edge of the stairs. In the bathroom the window cannot be closed properly, the taps themselves rotate a 180 degrees and are not fitted properly. Finally the loo handle needs some attention as it does not work every time. I would also add that the toilet downstairs needs replacing - it is a health hazard. It is a great shame because this could be a great place when it is bought up to standard but regrettable our stay was marred by the above deficiencies.

Great place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The house is mostly fine and would suit most needs, though some of the taps were in need of attention. The house is very peaceful and well located for the north Cotswolds and a number of interesting attractions.

Really loved our christmas holiday at gravel cottage. Just like home from home. None of us wanted to leave. Looking in to booking again already for the summer this time

This is the second time my friends and I have stayed at Gravel Cottage and we love it there. The house is spacious and well equipped, with lots of lovely towns nearby. It’s so homely and very clean and tidy. We’ll stay again!

Great cottage in walking distance to lovely pub.

From the outside, and the photos, this property looked lovely. In reality it was incredibly disappointing, very worn, tired and shabby. To list a few minor issues: worn, stained carpet in the hallway and up the stairs, ripped in parts, filthy coffee table that hadn’t been cleaned properly, stained living room rug, dead spider squashed on the bedroom wall, broken door shelf on the inside of the fridge which made it difficult to store liquids without spillage, cooker temperamental to light and one ring we could never use, shower hard to get the temperature correct: it’s either too cool or too hot. There was no garden furniture outside so we could not sit outside in the sun, and the garden was unkempt and had not been kept tidy or cutback as I would have hoped for. Also, the road nearby the cottage was surprisingly busy and noisy, and with no curtains on the landing windows, headlights would light up the hallway through the evening and night which was disruptive. For the money we paid I felt very shortchanged. I would not live in a property in this state and would not expect to charge others to do so either. While there was no major issues and the location was lovely, I would not recommend this property to anyone unless they got it at a rock bottom price or don’t expect a clean, quality place to stay. It has so much potential, and with a bit of money and effort, it could be great, but in its current state, it is not worth the money.

All we had hoped for and more. The well stocked toy room a real bonus for two active pre achool boys.
