The cottage could have been delightful, but I found it cold, uninviting and lacking in style. Simple changes such as cushions in the lounge, light bulbs that don't show above the lampshades, curtains on curtain poles that don't look shabby and basically a little more "love" put into the cottage. A frying pan would have been good too! Who doesn't like a fried breakfast? The gardens however were an absolute delight. One further issue that I had was that I spoke to the "lord" of the manner on a couple of occasions and found him quite rude. The "lady" of the manner was more affable, but, for me, I won't be returning. :(

Lovely cottage in a great location. The grounds are beautiful and the exercise field was much appreciated and loved by our dog. We were lucky enough to be able to make use of the heated outdoor pool which was an added bonus. The owners gave us plenty of walking advise and even provided us with binoculars to view the red deer on Exmoor at dusk - brilliant. Would definitely recommend and return to this cottage.

Groom's Cottage is in a central area with many interesting historic properties close by. We didn't see everything, but that is a good reason to return one day!
