Welcome to Gulls Cry, a two-bedroom bungalow with sea and beach views, situated in the seaside town of Portreath. Located on the North Coast of Cornwall between St Ives and Newquay, an ideal base for families and couples to explore the area. The property is accessed via stone steps so is not suitable for guests with restricted mobility, as you must leave the car at the bottom. The property offers a cosy retreat for people who want to stay local as the beach and harbour are only 100 metres away, as is the friendly village which has three pubs, a local shop and cafés.
Portreath nestles in a valley between high cliffs with a secluded sandy beach ideal for families and surfers, lying within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Beauty. The coastal path is next to the property where you can walk as far as St Ives and admire the spectacular rugged coastline and wildlife. Originally a busy port, importing coal and exporting copper, the area is surrounded by old tram roads now made into cycle paths, you can see the history of mining at Heartlands Cornish visitor attraction a great day out for everyone. The Great Flat Lode Trail encircles Carn Brea and follows the line of the Basset Mine Tramway; remains of the old engine houses surround the local countryside.
There are so many options for visiting attractions. The Eden Project is an hour away and a fun day out for the family; Tehidy Woods is 11 minutes away and has 250 acres of woodland, scenic walking trails, local wildlife, and a café; you can even book a round of golf at Tehidy Golf Club. Those who like culture can head to Truro to explore the beautiful cathedral, wander around the cobbled streets admiring the architecture and take in a show at The Hall for Cornwall. Offering a wide selection of restaurants, café and bars this is one of the best places in which to eat out. Whatever you decide to do, at the end of the day sit outside and enjoy the view, the skies are incredible.
