This is a great barn for a big group of family/ friends to enjoy the peaks. The barn had everything we needed and was a great space to relax. The area is beautiful, and despite the bad reviews we found the local pub and landlord friendly. We had a great weekend at Hall barn.

Good for a multigenerational family group

An excellent location. The Barn was in immaculate condition, and had been thoughtfully restored. There were 11 of us including 5 grandsons. The rooms and showers etc. were great. The games room was well used, and we are all now that much better at pool!! Great walks from the Barn, without having to use the car. The local pub we did not go to, as it looked very uninviting. Thank you for making our celebrations for my wife's 70th so special.

Hall Barn is perfect for large groups or families. The house is very well equipped, extremely clean and there were lots of lovely little touches (e.g milk in the fridge, jam, biscuits, tea, coffee and lots of toiletries). The bathrooms all look new and were well fitted out. The kitchen has everything you could need and is very spacious. The garden photos shows only 4 chairs but there is enough garden furniture for at least 12 people. The garden is well enclosed so the dogs could go out but the wall is low enough for a large dog to jump so if you have an escape artist keep an eye on it! There is no shop in the village but there is one at Longnor a few minutes drive away. There is a pub in the village but it is very strange ! It's like the land that time forgot and although the landlord was ok with us I can image he could be very abrupt with customers and customer service is not hid strong point. Some of the beer was undrinkable but he didn't take kindly to criticism

We had a great time at hall barn on our annual friends trip! Hall barn was brilliant in terms of location close to Buxton and Bakewell with lovely views! The beds were all extremely comfortable and the rooms a good size. Water pressure is a problem if someone’s in the shower at the same time but to be expected out in the countryside. Please be aware to take slippers with you as the nails in the floor did finish off a couple of pairs of socks! Great fun with the pool table and the house was very well stocked with different teas and many different herbs etc. Thank you to the housekeeper who called me prior to the trip and was extremely friendly and accommodating. A great trip overall!

The property is quite expensive, but the quality of the accommodation doesn't match the cost. The house accommodates 12 people, but one of the bedrooms doesn't have a window. Others have unglazed windows above the doors, which allows noise to travel. One of the taps was leaking and took two days to fix. The general provision of equipment was modest. The house is perfectly adequate, but doesn't justify a luxury price.

This was a fantastic place for our family get together to celebrate my father in laws 80th birthday. Lovely home with plenty of space for all of us and our 2 dogs. The views were stunning and the walks fantastic. Close enough for things to see and do too.

An excellent holiday home, very well equipped throughout.

We had a wonderful holiday in the barn. Very well equipped. Only negative was the noisy floorboards, sound insulation poor. Beds very comfy, bathrooms lovely with plenty of hot water. Would recommend for holiday where sound not an issue.

We would thoroughly recommend Hall Barn. Lots of space, well equ[ped, wonderful countryside to explore nearby

    out of 10

Wonderful stay in this lovely barn conversion. My only (minor) suggestion would be to have had the floor boards screwed down rather than nailed down, this would prevent the problem of noise and also nails rising and hurting feet and making holes in socks

    out of 10

Lovely property however floor boards creek a lot and as the bedrooms are downstairs this meant all the children struggled to sleep. Checked out a day early because of it.
