    This beautiful, semi-detached, stone-built barn conversion offers luxury, spacious accommodation surrounded by spectacular scenery in the rural Peak District village of Earl Sterndale. Full of character, with impressive beamed vaulted ceilings, exposed stone walls, two separate staircases to the first floor and superb gardens which benefit from stunning, far reaching countryside views, the property is perfect for any group occasion. Popular with walkers and cyclists, the village is home to a local pub which is just a stone’s throw from the property and has been established for over 400 years. Due to the area being sheep country, there is no access to the surrounding fields.
    Nearby Longor, 2 miles, has additional local facilities including a couple of traditional pubs, a cafe and fish and chip shop all set around the historic, cobbled market square. The market town of Buxton, famous for its spring water, diverse architecture and iconic opera house, is around 15 minutes away, and the ever popular Bakewell, home to the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, is around 20 minutes away. Finally, the UK’s premier theme park, Alton Towers, can be reached in around half an hour. Shop 2¼ miles, pub 175 yards, restaurant 1½ miles.

    This was a fantastic place for our family get together to celebrate my father in laws 80th birthday. Lovely home with plenty of space for all of us and our 2 dogs. The views were stunning and the walks fantastic. Close enough for things to see and do too.

    We had a wonderful holiday in the barn. Very well equipped. Only negative was the noisy floorboards, sound insulation poor. Beds very comfy, bathrooms lovely with plenty of hot water. Would recommend for holiday where sound not an issue.

    Wonderful stay in this lovely barn conversion. My only (minor) suggestion would be to have had the floor boards screwed down rather than nailed down, this would prevent the problem of noise and also nails rising and hurting feet and making holes in socks

    Lovely property however floor boards creek a lot and as the bedrooms are downstairs this meant all the children struggled to sleep. Checked out a day early because of it.

    Fab place for a large party of friends to meet. Really beautiful location, quiet, peaceful village with walks from the door. Well equipped kitchen, attention to detail excellent. Would highly recommend this lovely barn conversion .

    Fantastic stay, well equipped cottage ideally located for a walking break. Perfect, spacious accommodation for the 12 of us. You need to be organised as there isn’t a local shop. The wooden floor is noisy and beware if you have small children crawling around on the floor as 2 people in my party ended up with nasty splinters in their feet. Cottage could probably do with some modernisation but for how long we were there it was fine.
