You have access to a shared indoor swimming pool with sauna and spa facilities as well as the opportunity to hire a private hot tub. The cottage has its own style and unique draw with a lovely outlook over farmland towards the Solway Coast.
Further afield the market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles with Wordsworth House and Garden being worth a look. Keswick, 14 miles, has lots to offer the whole family including Lake District Wildlife Park, Go Ape and Honister Slate Mine to name but a few. There’s even private fishing available on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge by direct arrangement with the owner). Golf and horse riding nearby. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.
