We had an absolutely fabulous holiday at Harbour Cottage, plenty of space for the 7 of us. Storm Dennis was not our friend, however, we were prepared and still managed to have a great time. The cottage had everything we needed and the kids took full advantage of the spacious living room and bathroom!!

This is the second time we have visited Harbour Cottage and it was as lovely as I remember. It is a great place to relax and unwind. There is plenty of room, lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Both the owner and caretaker were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us, even checking on us during storm Ciara! The log fire during the storm made the place very cosy and the views from the conservatory and the living room are amazing, the pictures don't really do it justice. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage if you are looking for somewhere to recharge your batteries.

Two of us had a super R&R weeks break at Harbour Cottage. Plenty of room, great views, well equipped and both owner and caretaker were very helpful. Thoroughly recommend it if you want a quiet cottage to take time out overlooking the sea.

The cottage was not entirely clean when we arrived the fridge smelled of onions and was dirty. Underneath the two single beds was dust, sweets and all kinds of rubbish including a dirty pair of boys underpants. We had to push the two singles beds together and this is when we discovered the dirt. The main bedroom dresser was full of dust. Things had been changed like the kitchen table which was difficult to use as it had benches and not chairs and no balcony upstairs. There was no hot water to have a bath or shower with, all the time during our stay, we did tell the cleaner who said she would call round to fix it but to no avail. You need a degree in technology to use the TV in the lounge so much so we only watched it once on New Years Eve. Don't get me started on the kitchen blind we could not get it up or down and as it is on the main road everyone could see into the house therefore affording no privacy whatsoever. The rest of the cottage was cleaner and the views are lovely but unfortunately the local amenities are lacking with the exception of a Spar opposite the property, its a 25 minute drive to either Newton Stewart or Stranraer for any kind of supermarket and shops. The front door is so difficult to close it took two people and needs fixing. Overall it did not work for us with a family of four children aged 9, 7, 5 and 2 especially the dining table. The cottage needs updating and a TV in the main bedroom would have been handy as with our 5 & 7 year old upstairs in the third bedroom it meant we could not watch TV even if we could have put it on as they could hear it and would have been kept awake, so we spent our evenings in our bedroom bored. There was lots of free parking to the front which was a bonus but overall its not somewhere we would return to. The owner was friendly who I spoke to before arriving but a change of cleaner is required as she clearly is not doing her job properly also commenting when I advised her of our arrival time being 10 pm oh you will be lucky if I am still up at that time, as she was meeting us with the keys.

Lovely holiday cottage, fully equipped, comfortable and very cosy with the log fires burning. Views are beautiful. We fully recommend this cottage and will be back again next year.

Brilliant location, lovely cottage and had hoped to return next year until we found the price for the same week next year was more than £200 more than what we paid this year!

This is a fabulous cottage in a beautiful location. It is very well equipped, from kitchen basics to kids games and books - very much a home from home. Definitely one of the best cottages we have rented. It is also ideally situated for touring the local area. It was lovely to be welcomed to the cottage and given some local info which was very helpful. I would highly recommend Harbour Cottage.

In a relatively undiscovered area, and we loved it. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including a garage when we had a puncture! The cottage had arguably, the prime location in the village and was a delight being spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the options to relax in either the daylight filled conservatory or the upper floor comfortable lounge with views across the bay!

Views from the living room were excellent. Local area beautiful. Very few amenities in the village just a Spar shop but a visiting fish and chip van was good. Also we enjoyed the evening bar at the inshore lifeboat cafe at the weekends, more personal than a village pub. Cottage was well equipped and mainly comfortable. Outside furniture a little past it’s best. Inside dining area was a disappointment, just a table with benches in a corner of the kitchen, nothing like the photos. A proper dining table (or a foldaway one) in the sunroom with a view would be nicer for a family holiday.

Great cottage/place to relax and unwind.

We had a fantastic week at Harbour Cottage. It is the perfect place to relax - a quiet village, a comfortable well equipped house and stunning views. Very handy to have a shop just across the road and a good restaurant too.
