This is a fabulous cottage in a beautiful location. It is very well equipped, from kitchen basics to kids games and books - very much a home from home. Definitely one of the best cottages we have rented. It is also ideally situated for touring the local area. It was lovely to be welcomed to the cottage and given some local info which was very helpful. I would highly recommend Harbour Cottage.

In a relatively undiscovered area, and we loved it. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including a garage when we had a puncture! The cottage had arguably, the prime location in the village and was a delight being spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the options to relax in either the daylight filled conservatory or the upper floor comfortable lounge with views across the bay!

Views from the living room were excellent. Local area beautiful. Very few amenities in the village just a Spar shop but a visiting fish and chip van was good. Also we enjoyed the evening bar at the inshore lifeboat cafe at the weekends, more personal than a village pub. Cottage was well equipped and mainly comfortable. Outside furniture a little past it’s best. Inside dining area was a disappointment, just a table with benches in a corner of the kitchen, nothing like the photos. A proper dining table (or a foldaway one) in the sunroom with a view would be nicer for a family holiday.

Great cottage/place to relax and unwind.

We had a fantastic week at Harbour Cottage. It is the perfect place to relax - a quiet village, a comfortable well equipped house and stunning views. Very handy to have a shop just across the road and a good restaurant too.

A fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. Great place to explore the Galloway Forrest. Our kids loved the beach and great back garden. The view from the living room is amazing. Highly recommend!

Great holiday week in the cottage, a good 5 hour drive from the Midlands/South Yorkshire but felt good to be escaping to a little known area of the UK. The Spar shop and Restaurant over the road were the only places open during our visit but that was all we needed. The cafe was closed but looked worth a visit. Cosy kitchen but the rest of the cottage was spacious. Great views out to sea, parking outside for 2 or 3 cars. We walked round a local loch a couple of times, dropped in to a community cinema and took the ferry to Belfast for the day (the port is about 35 mins away).

A fantastic holiday property, with amazing views out to sea, very well equipped, we had a very chilled time. My only negative comment would be about the king size bed on the ground floor, mattress could do with being replaced. However this does not alter my opinion that this is a great holiday property and we will return for more holidays in the future.

Lovely cottage very comfortable brilliant position by sea. Local shop well stocked but expensive. Clansman restaurant great food friendly staff need to book as very popular. Village very friendly we will definitely go back again

Our stay was a lovely experience. The cottage was well equipped, spacious and warm. The welcome pack and flowers were a lovely touch. The immediate area is quiet with a general store just across the road, the Clansman restuarant next to it was a little gem with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. We walked most days, there are local walks and a stroll along the front and to the harbour is a must. Also on the harbour is The View, a cafe come souvinir shop with excellent coffee and wonderful milkshakes. We would definately come back. The upstairs sitting room gave a wonderful view of some spectacular sunsets.

A wonderful location and lovely cottage. It's a shame the local pub had to close. Excellent weather for September really made the break.
