Located on the Wild Atlantic Way route, the colourful little village of Portmagee offers a selection of traditional pubs, craft shops and restaurants. This area abounds with glorious scenery and some fantastic archaeological sites, not least the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the monastic settlement on the Skellig Islands which can reached by boat. St. Finian’s Bay beach, 6 miles, is a mecca for surfers, and also is home to a chocolate factory. The golden sands of Ballinskelligs beach is 10 miles. Explore beautiful Valentia Island, reached by the nearby land bridge. There’s also horseriding, golf and fishing nearby. Further afield, take a day trip to the glorious Dingle Peninsula or visit the magnificent lakes and mountains of Killarney National Park. Beach 6 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
