    > This beautiful 19th-century former fisherman’s stone cottage stands in an elevated position with commanding views of the harbour. One of a pair, and renovated to the highest of standards, Harbourway makes the ideal location for a family holiday or get together with friends.
Craster is a popular fishing village, noted particularly for its superb kippers - there is an on-site shop at the famous Craster curing sheds where fish can be bought, and there is a good seafood restaurant within the village. Situated on a 20-mile stretch of breathtaking coastline, which has been designated as one of the nation’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the coastal walk from Craster to the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle is a must, and has been recently nominated as Britain’s most popular walk. Fishing, bird-watching and golf (the course at Foxton is reputed to be the best in Northumberland) are all available locally.
A short drive away lies Alnwick Castle - home to the Percy family, and the second largest inhabited castle in England. Featured in the Harry Potter films, this enchanting and magnificent castle is filled with an array of decorative and fine art. The famous Alnwick Garden, together with the largest treehouse in Europe and stunning water gardens, make a good day out for all the family. Embleton Bay is close by and is said to be one of the most romantic bays in England. Shop and pub 220 yards.

Went with family for the week, beautiful setting overlooking Craster harbour. The cottage is well presented with everything we required.

The cottage was pleasant , however it requires some work on its plumbing and fittings. A leaky shower, a toilet cistern needs attention, door hinges are rusty and noisy, some doors are difficult to close and the front door could be more secure at night. These are relatively small issues, the overall the stay was good. Perhaps a handyman could spare his time for a day.

Beautiful cottage with spectacular views and walks. It’s a shame the local pub is expensive and lacks local character

A fantastic cottage in a superb location. The cottage was spotless, comfortable, warm and welcoming with lots to do in the surrounding area. It was perfect for our family of 8 (three generations aged 13 to 70)

We had a wonderful week at Harbourway over New Year. Upon arrival, the house was warm and welcoming. It has a real wow-factor for a rental property. Very tasteful christmas decorations were an extra special touch. The house is spacious and very well equipped. It is attractively decorated throughout. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, off the kitchen. The 2 en-suite bathrooms and the twin room are upstairs along with a house bathroom. Despite the cold weather the house quickly heated up, and there is a log burner for extra warmth. It was easy to feel relaxed and at home. Our hosts were very welcoming and on hand to deal with issues. The village itself is in a fabulous position on the Northumberland coast, and much of its charm is the remote location and its small size. As a result, there is no proper shop, but the smoke house and the cafe do sell essentials. There is a pub in the village. Alnwick is 10-15 minute drive away.
