We enjoyed our time at Hardy's Barn but I cannot stress enough how poor I find the key system that is in place. From the outset we had to chase for information on how to enter the property. When we arrived the key was not in the app for us to use. As others have mentioned, there is only the facility for one person to have the app downloaded and in use. This is a property for groups to stay in, the probability that different sets of people will be coming and going over the course of their stay is surely going to be very high. On the second day of our stay we went out and when we returned the app would not work. A call to the management team resulted in them promising a call back but instead I received a text saying the app was down and they gave a code to the back door. Unfortunately the garden was not accessible due to the gate being locked. I had to call back a further 2 times, all the while locked out of the property. Eventually, after 40 minutes of being locked out, a lady appeared in a car, scaled the garden fence and entered a lock box that has a key card in it which we used for the remainder of our stay.

Hardy Farm is very nice, my only complaint is access, getting in by I phone did not work as it should. not everyone has a smart phone. Need to look at another way .

Plus points Nice big house with plenty of space throughout, good WiFi coverage, tv's in all bedrooms, bath/shower in all bedrooms except for one, separate downstairs toilet. Negatives The cleanliness of the barn is below par, after reading some previous reviews of the property regarding cleanliness the owner ensured me that the property would be cleaned. The garden is a good size and secure for dogs as long as they can't jump as the wall to one side is around 5ft, it could also do with a lot of maintenance (and a good sweep) as there are a number of loose or missing bricks, weeds and cigarette ends. There is some sort of ratten type furniture that needs to be binned, and the bbq area is filthy with a bin next to it that doesn't look as if it's been emptied for weeks, there is also a pallet in there. Inside the barn quite a few of the windows and light fittings are covered in cobwebs and a few of the windows are painted shut which made it uncomfortably hot at the time we stayed there, the kitchen would benefit from new utensils, also in one of the bedrooms it appears to be chewing gum on one the headboards and one of the other bedrooms would benefit from a blind as there is a skylight in the ceiling and nothing to cover it. Overall disappointing, but could be so much better if the owners kept up with the maintenance and cleaning of the property The barn is in a nice friendly village and also has a coop, Chinese restaurant, fish shop, butchers and a pub

Many disappointing aspects. From only able to download one key, when there was a group of us. Court yard very scruffy and bbq filthy. And many kitchen utensils should be thrown in the bin and kitchen on last legs. Don't expect to have to clean showers, baths and dishwasher before you use them. Whole place needs a thorougher deep clean..

Lovely house, plenty of room for the six of us and a nice surprise that 3 out of the 4 bedrooms have en-suite. The spa hot tub was amazing and we didn’t waste anytime using it in our daily routine. The key lock system was very easy to set up, make sure you download it to your phone prior to arrival and it activates on the day of arrival. Overall a brilliant stay and we would definitely stay again.

Lovely big cottage - a little modernisation needed but generally beautiful. Better blinds needed in the bedrooms as a lot of light creeps in. We had a very enjoyable stay celebratinmy Dad’s retirement, will definitely book again next year without hesitation. Thank you hardy’s barn.

Good place to chill and relax

The barn is a really nice size, the only issue we had is we had to clean, they were body hair in the bath and showers, soap scum, peoples hair everywhere under the beds and sofas was disgusting. No curtains on the bedroom windows that meant waking up early when we went for a break. The bedding was clean at least. We had an issue with getting in because the app wasn’t working but other than that it was ok, just needs a deep clean and some curtains. The garden needs work. We sat out in weeds and other peoples cigarette ends

Hardy S Barn is a nice big house , plenty of room and walking distance to shops/ pub Took ages to down load the app to access the house as it just wouldn't work so cudnt get in !! Garden/ patio at back was quite scruffy , weeds everywhere, BBQ really dirty !!! Bedrooms had no curtains just blinds well you may as well have had nothing up at the windows as daylight woke us up at dawn 5 am every morning But appart from all that it is a nice big house

It was a nice house, but it has a front door that needs an app on your phone. Although I booked and called them the day before for details, and was told they would email me, they emailed my sister. We arrived after a 5 1/2 hour journey but could not get in. The code would not work, we then waited 30 mins for someone to come and let us in. Not the best start to a holiday, especially with two 80 year olds waiting in the car. The code NEVER WORKED!!. Despite phone calls and texts every day we never got any joy. We had to leave the side gate open and use the key in the box on the wall. That would have been ok, but you couldn't lock that door from the inside, so had to go out and around the house to be able to lock up every time. It was very very inconvenient. This we stated every day to the people dealing with the house. It was very very poor customer service.

The cottage was absolutely brilliant, spacious, clean, the only complaint would be that the outside courtyard could have done with a tidy up, it needed sweeping, but this is the only thing I would mention we had a lovely stay

    out of 10

It's a very quiet location. Key information was hard to get. There was some food left under the dining table...other than that is was very nice...a relaxing break was had by all.

Lovely big cottage, great value for money! Sleeps 8 but between 6 of us cost only 110 each for 3 nights. Really big property with plenty of space. All rooms except 1 had an en suite, and there were 2 additional bathrooms. The hot tub was roomy and out of the way. The only issue we had was with the electronic key system as we didn't realise only one device could be used and it became a bit of a hassle. Other than that, perfect! Will definitely be back again!
