We had a fab stay for a few days with great walks in the surrounding area with the dogs. The cottage garden is large and secure for small/medium dogs and our two loved it. The countryside surrounding the cottage is stunning. Not too far to drive to the shops or to eat out. The owners were wonderfully helpful too. I would go there again.

Perfect if you want a place to chill and relax, dark night and bright Stars.

Peaceful quiet location which is what we required..large garden for our dogs. Would be great in the summer as there is a conservatory and decking. Log burner was a joy to use as it creates an ideal atmosphere keeping in character with the age of the cottage...small down side the beds squeak but again are in keeping with the character...

Spent a cold, crisp November weekend amidst stunning scenery at Hassendean. The house was warm, extremely cosy and welcoming after long walks in the hills with the dogs. The log burner added that extra homely feeling. Excellent communication with owners who could not have been more helpful. I read the previous reviews before booking and can only say that some people need to get a life. The property represented excellent value for money with no supplement for dogs and we will definitely go back. The photograph is the view from the back garden at dawn.

Lovely cottage for walkers, very dog friendly and in a beautiful location. Perfect if you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a couple of days. The owners were very helpful. I’d definitely stay here again.

Had a great time at Hassendean Station Cottage, the view across the fields is priceless and the occasion visit of a large herd of sheep, munching away one minute, asleep under the tree the next. Such a relaxing time, spent hours in the conservatory and fantastic evenings sat by the log burner with the dogs snoozing from their long walks. Hawick is just five miles away with great places to eat and pretty much everything you need. it's also the home of Cashmere so a purchase of local produce is a must. Visited Melrose, Jedburgh only Thirty mins away, Lindisfarnes only an hour and a quarter but check the tides. The cottage is well equiped and maps are supplied of local walks and things to do. Had a great time and would probably visit again. Lovely part of the world.
