The cottage was ideal for both people and dogs. The garden was well secured and was in a peaceful rural setting.excellant shower and all the amenities you could want. Trips around the area were great, walks, castles, gardens and lots of good places to eat. We had a lovely time.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend away with my mum, dad and dog Storm to Hassendean Cottage. The location was brilliant, the garden was perfect for my dog and the views were out this world. The cottage itself maybe needs a bit of updating and the cleaning of a few cobwebs but alert from that I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to get away from the rat race and relax for a few days. Wonderful x

Lovely little cottage with wonderful views towards Minto Hills, very relaxing, our dog loved the garden, it was very well fenced. Many interesting places to visit, nice country park at Hawick great for walking dog if weather not so good as it had proper paths. Jedburgh, Kelso and Melrose also lovely towns, we would go back to Hassendean Station Cottage as it was very comfortable and we feel there are a lot more places to explore in the area.

Really loved this pretty little cottage the owners had thought of everything and the conservatory and fenced of garden for the dogs was brilliant. We would like to book again

we have been to Hassendean twice now and intend to go back later in the year. That in itself is a great recommendation! The cottage is very cosy and you can light a log stove in the evenings. The sunny conservatory is a very pleasant place to eat or just sit in the sunshine. The owners are very helpful in every way.Nothing is too much trouble.A great place for a holiday or a weekend break.

Lovely cottage, easy to find and clear instructions from the friendly, welcoming owner. The cottage is in a quiet area close to several bigger towns with shops and places to eat. We found Melrose very good for eating out with the dogs as there were a number of dog-friendly places giving a choice of different menus/pricing and it is a lovely town with an impressive ruined abbey. Plenty of places to visit nearby too, not used to only having so much to do within such a short distance! The cottage was clean and comfortable, with the choice of the living room or conservatory to sit in and plenty of parking outside. There is a small but well-equipped kitchen area. The garden is lovely, though the back fence is low and one of our dogs had to be kept on a long-line in the garden just in case he decided to go and play with the sheep on the other side of the fence. Really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly consider coming back.

Nearby Denholm has 2 Inns& 2 Cafes, a shop & river walks, the more energetic can climb up to Fatlips Castle, take the path up to & through Denholmhill woods through a wall gate down into Denholm Dean, or instead go up to top of the wood & take right of way to the right & into Ruberslaw wood, this brings you to the flank of Ruberslaw at 494m,with 360 degree views of the surrounding border hills. The abbeys of Melrose, Jedburgh & Kelso, as well as Floors Castle are also with-in easy driving distance.

A really lovely cottage with a very safe garden for our little dog. No holes to escape through. We had a very relaxing week and would love to return.

This is a lovely little cottage. It is small but cosy and has lovely views over open countryside. No Wi-Fi and a small tv, this place has a real retro feel about it, so it really is a place to get away from the rat race and relax.

Brilliant little cottage with picture perfect views. Nice and spacious cottage. However could do with a little sprucing up decor wise and a good clean there was dust webs and spude webs in corners and on ceilings. Apart from that i would deffinately recommend this cottage.

Lovely setting and lovely owner but very old fashioned furniture that was uncomfortable. Bed was extremely noisey and pillows old and lumpy. Also toilet would not flush.

A lovely, cosy cottage in a beautiful setting. A warm, friendly welcome by the owner. The cottage was warm and well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will be returning.
