There is an open plan kitchendining area with stunning bi-fold doors opening out on to the terrace and garden which is perfect for the summer months and allows maximum benefit from sunshine whatever the season. The gleaming kitchen is well equipped to create relaxing holiday meals and there are good local shops and a pub in Pathhead 1½ miles away. East Lothian has many renowned golf courses and lovely sandy beaches around 30 minutes drive away. Beach 20 miles.     A great place for a isolated retreat. Cottage is a large modern bungalow set in beautiful countryside and not far from Edinburgh which is an added bonus. Accommodation is clean and tidy and provides books and toys for a family with small children. Beds very comfy and large kitchen and dining area perfect for Xmas lunch. Overall a good place for our family Christmas break. Basic equipment provided, but no other provisions such as cleaning products i.e dishwasher tablets, cloths, general kitchen and bathroom cleaner which is usually provided and necessary if staying for a week and for a location away from local supermarkets. A welcome pack would have made a difference which we have been fortunate to receive on all other occasions. However a decorated Xmas tree and crackers were welcome. Please note staying here means you are a magnet for local deliveries and parcels when delivery companies cannot find the correct houses!!

    We had a lovely stay in Hawthorn House. Beautiful house and perfect location. We found the park and ride into Edinburgh really easy and good value! The accomodation is very spacious for a party of 8. Unfortunately the property had not been cleaned to a decent standard, meaning that we spent a considerable time cleaning before we could use the kitchen. We didnt use the BBQ at all as it was full of cigarettes and ash from a previous occupier. The property is in need of a thorough deep clean. This was such a shame as the property is beautiful. We made the owners aware and they have since changed cleaners.
