Super memorable cottage and holiday. It is in a good location for visiting all the sites in the area. Ideal for dogs. Has a table tennis and pool table for any rainy times. It's not modern, but maybe better for it, making it a very unique and memorable stay, plus nice to see some history in the books about the Cottage etc. Sometimes feels a little musty, but just open the door/window for 5 mins on arrival. There's a double+single room upstairs, a single downstairs, which is probably good if there are any accessibility needs. Ate in half the time, and out the other half, cooking facilities all good. Recommend the Foulsyke Bistro down the road for a final meal, it's top quality. If you go to Whitby, would recommend fish & chips at the Fishermans wife, we got a window seat and saw Dolphins out at sea.

We had a lovely holiday, location is great the gardens are lovely unfortunately the lake was emty, the cottage wasn't the cleanest we had to scrub the shower room, kitchen and cooking utensils, overall could do with an upgrade to greatly improve the cottage, the games room was great for evenings to pass the time but again needs a good clean, overall lovely if was cleaned properly, however bedding & towels were spotless,if your scared of spiders go prepared also dogs are not allowed upstairs or on furniture I'd not use the kennel outside for then either

Lovely location. The cottage was cold - we should have paid for the heating! The owner made us most welcome.

A superb cottage in an excellent location. The cottage is set in a quiet countryside position yet within a short distance of all amenities and the beach and for us best of all is very dog friendly. Would recommend this cottage without hesitation.

Lovely and compact in a beautiful rural location and only 10 minutes from Scarborough. The garden is amazing, the owner is lovely but the place could do with a little make-over just to make it 5*. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would return, no problem.
