Enjoyed a week break with my young daughter. Lovely location, cosy cottage. It was perfect for 2, it would be cosy for 4 I think. WiFi is definitely spotty, so if you need constant access this isn't the right place for you. However, my daughter and I were quite happy with TV, books and games which we brought with us. No DVDs or books supplied, which I'd noted on another review, so I brought DVDs with us. Great garden space for my little one to run around in. Quiet and didn't hear any noise from any of the other cottage guests.

Very good barn conversion in an excellent location to enjoy a great area. Generally well equipped, we suggested that the owners take things to a logical conclusion and as they provide, for example, a teapot then a cosy should be added, and given that there is a selection of baking equipment then scales would make these useful. It was the first cottage in 30 years of such holidays we have stayed in without a single book, game or DVD. Not a complaint, as these weren't promised, but then they normally aren't, they are just there! The cottage was quiet (we saw, but never heard, our neighbours) and comfortable, so we slept well. The cottage was generally very clean with just a few 'missed bits'. For example the freezer really needed defrosting and there was a lot of dust down the sides of and underneath radiators, chest of drawers etc. The owner provided huge amounts of information in quirky folders which were unfortunately not up to date regarding opening times, prices, timetables etc. Less personal opinion and more picking up this year's leaflets would have been better,as would a good proof reading! Overall, excellent and we would be happy to return.

This cottage is perfectly situated to explore the Peak District. It is comfortable, spacious, so well equipped, the owners have thought of everything, it was also exceptionally clean, lots of hot water for bath and shower. Welcome tray was full of everything to start your break, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, wine and shortbread biscuits. By far the best cottage we have stayed in. Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton, Dovedale, all around 20 minutes drive. Great food at a selection of local pubs.We felt exceptionally well rested after our four night stay. It is important to note, there are twelve stone steps to this cottage.
