Further afield, take a trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye and on the way there you can stop and visit the popular Eilean Donan Castle. To the south, visit Fort William, the outdoor capital of the UK, where you can hike up Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain, or take the mountain gondola and ski on the slopes of Aonach Mòr. Some of the most spectacular scenery can be enjoyed from the top of the mountains and hills, a Munro bagger’s delight! Amongst the many activities available in the area are golf, with many courses within easy reach, mountain biking on numerous trails, hill climbing and walking with many forest trails on the doorstep, a variety of water sports on Loch Ness or on the Moray coastline and skiing and snowboarding in the Cairngorms or the Nevis range. A wonderful cottage, in a gorgeous part of the Highlands. The owners are friendly and helpful, there was a lovely welcome pack (milk, shortbread, tea, coffee, fruit, jams etc) and everything worked and was easy to use in the apartment. It's also really convenient for the beauty of Loch Ness, and other Highland attractions. It was closer to the main house than I had imagined, but we were absolutely given our privacy so it wasn't an issue at all. We loved our stay at the cottage.
