Hoseasons " Set within two miles of the stunningly beautiful white sandy beaches of Embo and Dornoch a Royal Burgh since 1628 this spacious and very well appointed holiday property is ideal for larger parties. Enjoying exceptionally large living areas featuring wooden flooring and very comfortable furnishings Heatherwood House stands only a short distance from shops bars and restaurants in the thriving small town of Dornoch where a pleasant circular walk passes the Old Town Jail and the 13th-century cathedral famously chosen by Madonna for her son’s Christening before going on past the Royal Durnoch championship golf course and the beach up to the pier at the seaside village of Embo. Nearby the Loch Fleet nature reserve a designated SSSI attracts a wide variety of wading birds and guided tours of this wonderfully tranquil tidal basin can be arranged. The Sutherland hills are a short drive away and there are forest walks nearby. Just 10 miles away lies Dunrobin Castle spiritual home of the clan Sutherland since the 13th century. Today’s visitors can enjoy falconry displays and wander through spectacular gardens designed by Sir Charles Barry and inspired by the Palace of Versailles. Very large space for families to relax......could have been more facilities/leisure equipment to use....barbecue in poor condition. Thing that prevented us from scoring higher was the poor cleanliness....particularly during the COVID pandemic.

Excellent large house, that we have used a few times now. Some of the appliances and soft furnishings are a little tired now and could be doing with getting replaced, but overall a great property. Dornoch is a great little town - plenty to see and do both in and around the town.

Loved the house very comfortable and warm, cooker took a bit of getting used to but once we did it was fine The only negative we had was that the showers didn’t drain very well maybe they just want cleaning
