    Comfort and Equipment

    Value for money

Lovely relaxing place to stay. Could do with some upgrading as one of the double beds is rickety and has been taped up. Would be nice to have a chair in the bedrooms and the lamps in one one of the double rooms needs replacing as one of them was broken. Apart from that we all loved our stay there and would definitely recommend.

We had a brilliant weekend at this property. It’s so much nicer and more spacious than the photos look. The children called it ‘the mansion’! Beautiful views and wildlife to observe. Excellent value for money. Could do with a few more forks in the cutlery drawer!

Modern spacious holiday home in a fantastic waters edge location. I booked it for Christmas week (it came with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree) to accommodate our extended family who very much enjoyed the space, comfortable lounge seating, TVs, playing table tennis and snooker on the full size table. It is supplied with ample kitchen equipment for catering for a large group with plenty of room to store food, for serving and sitting down to meals. A big plus was the large selection of glasses & crockery. The property is very warm so we didn’t bother to light the wood burner. It was good to have 2 TVs and a DVD player. The verandah looked lovely to sit out on but it was too cold in the winter. An en suite bathroom for each bedroom was also much appreciated. However it wasn’t easy to adjust the shower temperatures which were too hot for me, and I found the water wasn’t hot enough to run a decent bath. The ovens, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer were adequate but the fridge freezer is a little on the small side for such a large property. There were some minor maintenance issues apparent eg light bulb replacement, kitchen clock not working, descaling of shower heads required, dishwasher filter needed cleaning, broom head came off handle.

    Great place for us all.

The photos of Higham View do not do it justice. We were pleasantly surprised to find the main lounge, dining room and kitchen open plan. Our main bug bear with the venue was that the hob was very slow to heat anything and the dishwasher was not big enough for a full house (and when it broke down we had to spend lots of our time washing up and we were informed that nobody would be coming out to fix it because it was a Sunday). We would recommend this venue as the location, facilities, layout and balcony are ideal for a gathering.

The cottage is wonderful you have everything you could possibly need. The only comment I would make is some of the things in the house could do with an over haul ie the bed in the top room I think might need replacing as it had been mended previously as another leg had been put under it to hold it up but this made the floorboards squeakeach time we moved and we were worried about waking the baby up in the next room so slept in the single beds, the 3d glasses in the cinema room were not working and all the snooker cues were broken or had no tips on them so we were unable to use them either. Apart from that everything else was wonderful and would highly recommend the cottage. We hired some boats from the guy downstairs which was a great day out too.

The house is in a fantastic spot for peace and tranquility, especially during autumn when the boat traffic is much lighter. The walk to the pub is a little further than we hoped but it was worth it as the food there was excellent. The kitchen area is fabulous but could probably do with a second fridge as with only 8 people there we had it rammed to the gunnels with both food and wine/beer. With the house full, the fridge would not cope. Our only other slight gripe would be that the mattresses have seen better days and could do with being replaced. Otherwise, we had a fabulous time there and would book again and recommend to others.

We had a fantastic family holiday here, Heigham View was the perfect venue for us all to get together and make happy memories. The balcony was brilliant for my disabled mum to watch the boats from and the mooring next to the property was great for our hire boat. The rooms were excellent, and all en suite which was great. Already planning to come back. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time here and we will return in the future. No hesitation in recommending. Only comment (which has been made to the owner who will action) is that ideally more fridge space could be provided. We also had Avril the Chef come in and cook dinner on our last night which was outstanding.

what a fabulous place everything you could need was there the soap on the basins was a nice touch, poss just a few spare loo rolls would have been good. The location was amazing.
