We had a lovely stay at Wheelhouse, Thankyou.

We had a great family holiday at the wheelhouse cottage, plenty of space for the 6adults and 3children under 5years old. It was good to be able to park 3cars and still have plenty of outdoor space for the children to play safely. Beautiful house in a good location for beaches and very quiet, lovely welcome with the cream tea. The animals were an extra treat for the children & the adults. The only negative comment is that it was a shame that the children’s play house in the shared area was not in a better state of repair.

Very comfortable and well-appointed house in a beautiful and peaceful location. Owners are friendly and helpful.

Excellent accommodation, very well appointed and roomy, we felt comfortable and at home from day one. The kitchen is great and a really good place for the family to socialise. The setting is superb and our 2 year old granddaughter loved the chickens. The location is quite remote, but we were aware of this anyway, still quite handy for Ifracombe and Barnstable though.

There were 8 of us including 2 grandchildren of 3 and 6 years old. This is a very comfortable, spacious barn and well equipped. It was excellent that each bedroom had it's own bathroom and the downstairs bedroom was perfect for grandparents. The location is absolutely beautiful if a little remote. I would thoroughly recommend the Wheelhouse for a large family holiday. Added bonus (and very difficult to find) a house for all the family that does not allow dogs...We have a member of the family who has a dog/cat allergy.

We stayed at the wheelhouse over the easter break and had a great time. The house is very well equipped and feels like a comfortable home from home. The kitchen had everything we needed along with a good sized table for the family to get around. We arrived to scones, clotted cream, fresh eggs and a bottle of wine which was a very kind touch. The children loved the animals and we found the wheelhouse to be a very relaxing place to be. We will certainly be back!

We (a 5 and 8 year old, parents and two grandparents) had a lovely week at Wheelhouse. Cottage very clean and a lovely welcoming gift of fresh scones, cream and jam as well as fresh eggs from the owners’ chickens and a bottle of red wine. Facilities excellent with high standards of cleanliness. Very helpful selection of leaflets advertising local tourist attractions and reliable WiFi signal to allow more detailed research where required. Children loved the animals especially the alpacas and owners were very kind in allowing them to help feed the chickens and put the larger animals in bed. Beds comfy with lovely powerful showers. Only thing missing was a potato peeler but kitchen otherwise well stocked. Would definitely recommend to others especially those with young children who are fond of animals.
