Please note This property has a security deposit of £75.\n\n Dating back to the early 1700s and originally built for the use of Hexham Abbey Hexham House has been lovingly restored and renovated into seven apartments which are unique individual and full of style. Perfect as a wedding venue or for guests wanting to enjoy a family get together or celebration with friends Hexham House really does have everything to offer. Looking onto the grounds of Hexham Abbey guests will have full use of this public space and will have access straight into these gardens. For larger groups the whole building can be booked together and with prior arrangement with the owners a separate reception and banqueting room and also a registrar can be booked if needed. Hexham House really does boast the most magical atmosphere and ambience which makes it the perfect place to say your marriage vows with accommodation for guests right on site. The apartments are also the ideal location for a romantic break or family holiday. Apartment 2 is small cosy and compact yet offers everything that a guest may need. Situated on the ground floor the living and kitchen areas are open-plan and make great use of the available space. The double bedroom is light and airy and has an en-suite and super views over the grounds of the abbey behind.\n\nWith an abundance of history literally on the doorstep Hexham is filled with interesting places to visit explore and enjoy. Hexham Abbey sits proudly to the rear of Hexham House and dominates the market place of the town. Dating back to AD674 this old priory boasts an interactive exhibition and a visitor centre as well as fabulous grounds and public spaces. Hexham Old Gaol is another historic site and certainly worth a visit at any time of year. For guests who enjoy a day at the races Hexham Racecourse is situated just 2 miles away and has a packed calendar all year round. Hexham boasts a theatre cinema golf course rowing club skateboard park leisure centre with pool running track and ten-pin bowling alley so guests should always be able to find something to enjoy during their stay. \n\nHexham is located just 6 miles from the world famous Hadrian’s Wall the county’s greatest Roman monument and World Heritage Site which stretches 73 miles across the backbone of Northumberland. Crossing through stunning countryside natural woodland and meadows there are plenty of established public footpaths cycle paths bridleways and popular walks and cycle routes that guests must take the opportunity to explore as well as Roman forts and settlements that include Vindolanda Chesters and Housesteads. \n\nThe pretty town of Corbridge is only a little over 5 miles away and offers some great places to eat and drink as well as boutique shops and a stroll along the riverbanks. The Northumberland National Park and International Dark Skies Park are both close by and offer some of the most fabulous scenery and views as well as unbeatable star gazing at night. Hexham is also very well positioned for exploring the bordering counties of Cumbria and County Durham with Carlisle the Lake District and the cathedral city of Durham all easily reachable within an hour’s drive. Just 20 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead guests will find there are plenty of shopping opportunities art galleries museums restaurants and bars.     Great apartment for us as we wanted to stay in the centre of Hexham. Only disadvantage is that it fronts a busy road but this was more than made up for by the fact we were right in the centre of Hexham and close to shops, restaurants and pubs.

    We loved apartment 2 in Hexham House. It’s centrally situated in Hexham close to historic Hexham Abbey, and shops, restaurants and Hexham market square - and there’s a Waitrose a 15 minute walk away. The apartment is fairly small, but is well equipped and comfortable. Although the front faces the road, the bedroom overlooks the lovely Hexham House gardens, and is wonderfully quiet at night. The only thing we could’ve done with was somewhere in the apartment to hang damp coats - a stand or some hooks. Otherwise everything was absolutely perfect. Recommend!

    The apartment is well situated with easy access to the town centre and many areas of interest. The kitchen is well equipped but a larger work surface would be beneficial. Parking is next to the entrance and off the road. The only issue was the front window that was draughty and let a lot of traffic noise in. The bus service AD 122 is ideal for getting easy access to all the historic sites along Hadrians wall.
