Perfect as a wedding venue, or for guests wanting to enjoy a family get together or celebration with friends, Hexham House really does have everything to offer. Looking onto the grounds of Hexham Abbey, guests will have full use of this public space and will have access straight into these gardens. For larger groups, the whole building can be booked together, and with prior arrangement with the owners, a separate reception and banqueting room and also a registrar can be booked if needed. Hexham House really does boast the most magical atmosphere and ambience, which makes it the perfect place to say your marriage vows, with accommodation for guests right on site. The apartments are also the ideal location for a romantic break or family holiday. Apartment 5 is on the second floor, and offers comfort and style, with open-plan living space, a double bedroom with kingsize bed, and a shower room.

    With an abundance of history literally on the doorstep, Hexham is filled with interesting places to visit, explore and enjoy. Hexham Abbey sits proudly to the rear of Hexham House and dominates the market place of the town. Dating back to AD674, this old priory boasts an interactive exhibition and a visitor centre, as well as fabulous grounds and public spaces. Hexham Old Gaol is another historic site and certainly worth a visit at any time of year. For guests who enjoy a day at the races, Hexham Racecourse is situated just 2 miles away and has a packed calendar all year round. Hexham boasts a theatre, cinema, golf course, rowing club, skateboard park, leisure centre with pool, running track and ten-pin bowling alley, so guests should always be able to find something to enjoy during their stay.

    Hexham is located just 6 miles from the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, the county’s greatest Roman monument and World Heritage Site, which stretches 73 miles across the backbone of Northumberland. Crossing through stunning countryside, natural woodland and meadows, there are plenty of established public footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways and popular walks and cycle routes that guests must take the opportunity to explore, as well as Roman forts and settlements that include Vindolanda, Chesters and Housesteads.

    The pretty town of Corbridge is only a little over 5 miles away and offers some great places to eat and drink, as well as boutique shops and a stroll along the riverbanks. The Northumberland National Park and International Dark Skies Park are both close by and offer some of the most fabulous scenery and views, as well as unbeatable star gazing at night. Hexham is also very well positioned for exploring the bordering counties of Cumbria and County Durham, with Carlisle, the Lake District and the cathedral city of Durham all easily reachable within an hour’s drive. Just 20 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, guests will find there are plenty of shopping opportunities, art galleries, museums, restaurants and bars. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

    Wonderful relaxing holiday in this first class apartment. Lovely warm greeting on arrival from Cameron who was very helpful. Really appreciated the extra thoughtful touches. Very central for Hexham which was a bonus as didn’t need to use car. Didn’t want to come home again! Would love to own such a property as this.

    Hexham House is a hidden gem in central historic Hexham and offers superb accommodation right on the doorstep of all the major Northumbrian attractions. This apartment forms part of a very sympathetic renovation project and is beautifully light and spacious with everything you need for a self catering stay. Gorgeously comfortable bed, spacious living area and a practical bathroom coupled with wonderful views of the Abbey, bowling green and gardens beyond. Cam and Carrie and brilliant caretaker hosts and respond quickly to any requests both before and during your stay. On the doorstep and all walkable are major supermarkets including Tesco, Waitrose and M&S plus a bounty of restaurants and coffee house, both independent and high street names. Hexham itself is very friendly, catering to all types of visitor so it all feels very welcoming. There is no doubt that we will be back and are have no hesitation in recommending Hexham House (and apartment 5!).

    Lovely, clean, comfortable flat in beautiful surroundings, with everything we needed for a week's holiday. Apartment 5 overlooks the gardens, so had a great view & was very quiet. The bed was particularly comfortable. Cameron & Carrie were incredibly friendly & helpful. I'm sure we'll be back.

    Great location for getting around area including parts of Scotland. Apartment has everything you need. The welcome chocolates and fruit and milk in fridge are great when you first arrive. Only slight downside is the 2 seater settee could be a bit bigger and more comfortable but bed very comfortable and large.

    A lovely apartment that was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Convenient for Hadrians wall and also Newcastle upon Tyne. Apartment 5 has lovely aspects over the abbey and a bowling green so very pleasant. We had a really nice break.

    Hexham house is a high quality conversion of what were previously offices. Apartment 5 is roomy and there is a pleasant view of the Abbey gardens from the living area.

    Had a great few days stay, Cameron was very helpful upon our arrival. Hexham House appartment was excellent couldn't ask for anything better. Location was central to lots of querky towns & villages. Lots of places of interest to visit in this area too. Would highly recommended this appartment.
