Perfect as a wedding venue, or for guests wanting to enjoy a family get together or celebration with friends, Hexham House really does have everything to offer. Looking onto the grounds of Hexham Abbey, guests will have full use of this public space and will have access straight into these gardens. For larger groups, the whole building can be booked together, and with prior arrangement with the owners, a separate reception and banqueting room and also a registrar can be booked if needed. Hexham House really does boast the most magical atmosphere and ambience, which makes it the perfect place to say your marriage vows, with accommodation for guests right on site. The apartments are also the ideal location for a romantic break or family holiday. Apartment 7 is known as The Bridal Suite and really does boast the most fabulous accommodation for guests wanting to really enjoy a romantic break or special occasion. Set on the third floor, the apartment has an open-plan living area and kitchen, and separate dining room, so there is plenty of space in which to relax. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and original fireplace, and really is a beautiful room. There is also a smaller bedroom with double bed that is impeccably furnished. The bathroom boasts a freestanding roll-top bath, as well as a shower cubicle and heated towel rail.

    With an abundance of history literally on the doorstep, Hexham is filled with interesting places to visit, explore and enjoy. Hexham Abbey sits proudly to the rear of Hexham House and dominates the market place of the town. Dating back to AD674, this old priory boasts an interactive exhibition and a visitor centre, as well as fabulous grounds and public spaces. Hexham Old Gaoll is another historic site and certainly worth a visit at any time of year. For guests who enjoy a day at the races, Hexham Racecourse is situated just 2 miles away and has a packed calendar all year round. Hexham boasts a theatre, cinema, golf course, rowing club, skateboard park, leisure centre with pool, running track and ten-pin bowling alley, so guests should always be able to find something to enjoy during their stay.

    Hexham is located just 6 miles from the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, the county’s greatest Roman monument and World Heritage Site, which stretches 73 miles across the backbone of Northumberland. Crossing through stunning countryside, natural woodland and meadows, there are plenty of established public footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways and popular walks and cycle routes that guests must take the opportunity to explore, as well as Roman forts and settlements that include Vindolanda, Chesters and Housesteads.

    The pretty town of Corbridge is only a little over 5 miles away and offers some great places to eat and drink, as well as boutique shops and a stroll along the riverbanks. The Northumberland National Park and International Dark Skies Park are both close by and offer some of the most fabulous scenery and views, as well as unbeatable star gazing at night. Hexham is also very well positioned for exploring the bordering counties of Cumbria and County Durham, with Carlisle, the Lake District and the cathedral city of Durham all easily reachable within an hour’s drive. Just 20 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, guests will find there are plenty of shopping opportunities, art galleries, museums, restaurants and bars. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

    Very high quality apartment in the centre of Hexham and facing onto a lovely park. Very well equipped though the kitchen is a little small. Lots to do in the area. Especially good for Hadrians Wall.

    We stayed and got married at hexham house in November. And I can honestly say.....WOW!! Beautiful apartment, very warm welcome we could not have asked for more. We will most definatly be back in the future.

    This is a luxurious, tastefully decorated, spacious apartment with lovely views over the park behind the Abbey. Very comfortable bed with beautiful bedding and we were able to change the down duvet for a fibre one with a simple call to the management company. The apartment is very fresh and clean. We will definitely be back.

    We had a fantastic short break staying at Hexham House. The apartment was superb and the little finishing touches (the box of chocolates and bowl of fresh fruit etc) made it extra special. It was a great base from which to see the local area.

    Lovely stylish and spacious apartment in a good location in the town. Apartment 7 is at the top of Hexham House (second floor) and it’s a bit of a climb but views are great across the gardens and Hexham Abbey one way, and into the hills from the other bedroom. Everything is well laid out. There is no washing machine or easily usable ironing board but otherwise excellently equipped. The town has many good supermarkets, a station to get into Newcastle/Carlisle and also good coffee shops and cafés in the market area. There is an excellent french restauarant next door. Hexham is in a good position for exploring Hadrian’s Wall, Corbridge Roman Town, Newcastle and the coast to the north. All in all, an excellent apartment and very well managed by Jamiesons.

    We had a wonderful stay at hexham house it was everything we could have asked for. A great location for exploring. We had some fabulous days out at Alnwick castle, vindolanda, steel rigg walk by hadrains wall and the Roman army museum. The appartment was set in beautiful grounds, household essentials were provided which made our stay comfortable and easy.
