There is a small sunny private garden with a terraced area. In the evening why not settle down under the stars with a night cap, light the outside fire and listen to the owls calling. In the bathroom, the oval basin, set in a marble top, came from a local manor house. There is an open plan living and dining area, as well as a simple wooden panelled kitchen area that is also very well equipped.
Hooke is a small village comprising a cluster of houses, farms and a church and there are many walks from your doorstep. In 5 minutes you can be in beautiful Hooke Woods, home to the Architectural Associations Woodland School. Or wind your way past the wood and down through the Mapperton valley, timeless and beautiful, with a lovely cafe at Mapperton House to reward your efforts. Head east, and you reach Powerstock Common, an ancient landscape. It’s a 25 minute drive to the spectacular cliffs and coast at West Bay made famous by the TV series ’Broadchurch’ whilst Charmouth, famous for its fossils is only a 40 minute drive away.
