If peace and tranquillity is what you are after then look no further. The Dairy is situated in Beck Hole, one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets. The semi-detached cottage sits within the grounds of the owner’s home just a short walk from one of the smallest pubs in the UK, known for its traditional ales and warm friendly welcome. It has its own private courtyard with seating as well as a shared ‘recreational barn’ which includes a TV, pool table, gymnasium and sauna. Beck Hole is located deep in the valley with the holiday cottage overlooking the village just a short stroll from the local pub. Stunning valleys and sweeping hillside views can be enjoyed from the idyllic location of the cottage. You could almost be anywhere in the world, close your eyes and listen to the silence interrupted only by bird song. Cycle tracks, bridle paths and walkways abound from the doorstep with quaint little villages popping up when you least expect it.
It is just 1 mile from the well-known village of Goathland best known for its connections with Heartbeat, indeed Hill Farm in which The Dairy sits was used for many of the film shoots. The village green is lined with quaint curio shops, inns and tea rooms serving some of Yorkshire’s finest cuisine. You can board the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train here and take a memorable journey through the glorious Esk Valley as it steams its way across the valleys into the historic market town of Pickering. The ancient sea port of Whitby is just a short drive over the moors, eight miles, a colourful harbour leads to the three mile stretch of sandy beach overlooked and almost protected by the ancient abbey ruins and St Mary’s church. The brave (and fit) can take the 199 steps up to the abbey ruins where panoramic views over Whitby across to Sandsend can be enjoyed. Explore the smugglers coves of Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes or visit the more elegant seaside resort of Scarborough, Britain’s first ever seaside resort. It would take a lifetime to explore the delights on offer in this beautiful part of the world. With country shows and fairs throughout the summer you will be spoilt for choice. Or, maybe just spend the day relaxing at home making use of the full gymnasium, sauna and games room all on offer here at The Dairy. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub 600 yards.
The Dairy can be booked together with Valley View (UK2020) to accommodate up to 10 guests.

Amazing cottage, lovely owners and located in our favourite part of the world. Might be a bit isolated for some but we love it up there and the dogs and kids did too (even the 3 year old managed the walks to and from the station, and it's a good walk).

My family and i stayed here for my birthday weekend. It was perfect for couple nights away. The buck bed wasn’t ideal for 7 1/2 adults but we knew this when booking. The location is idyllic and hosts were friendly and helpful. The WiFi drops occasionally but this is to be expected with the location. The beds were comfy and the property was clean

For us the cottage was fabulous and had everything we could wish for. There was not a lot in Beck Hole itself but we knew that before we went, but we went for the walking and scenery and the tiny pub is well worth a visit. It was quite expensive for the 3 nights but at the end of the day you get what you pay for and the people who own the property were lovely. I would definitey recommend it and would go back for another visit. The hot tub was scruplously clean and treated every morning.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Best value cottage I have ever stayed in, really tastefully decorated. Felt like home. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. The location is so lush and there is plenty to do in the near area. Even though the weather was horrendous, we had an amazing time :)
