Ashbourne is known as the gateway to the Peak District National Park and is an ideal base to visit many attractions including Alton Towers 8 miles.     What a great cottage to spend a few days away from my everyday business as a full time carer. Didn’t need anything apart from clothes and food as everything was provided . Best equipped property I have ever stayed in. The dogs loved the large garden and spent most of their time outside, often barking at neighbours. Only drawback was the creaking floor boards, especially during the night.

    We had a great time, was perfect for our family. All the equipment we needed was there. Landlady was kind, helpful and did everything to make our stay great. We had a toddler with us, the garden was great for her and she loved the animals in surrounding fields. Perfect locations for the activities we wanted to do.

    Loved every moment of our stay. A warm welcome awaited us from Wendy who is extremely kind & helpful. Ideal location for exploring the Peak District. The house is very well equipped, we never had any issues. There is plenty of information provided in the house to help you decide which places to visit. We had a wonderful week at the house and would highly recommend it.

    We stayed here with our friends for Christmas and when we arrived the house had been beautifully decorated and Santa had left us a present under the tree. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge on the comfy sofas, the gas fire was very efficient. The house is very well equipped, lots of cooking equipment, although an extra frying pan would have been useful. The two fridges came in handy as well. Plenty of space on the drive for us. Apart from the creaky floors which we had read about in other reviews the only downside was the bathroom in the king size room. It states shower over bath but because of the sloping roof you cannot stand up to have a shower, in fact there isn't even a shower curtain provided. We ended up having to have a bath and use the shower head to rinse our hair. We were envious of the girls in the twin room as they had a separate bath and shower cubicle all to themselves.

    Lovely long weekend with friends. Well equipped spacious house, only downside very creaky floorboards & only small towels in twin bedded bedroom. Overall very good value for money

    Nice house , but carpets are disgusting, need a good clean . If it is allowed dogs surely it would be healthier to have laminated flooring

    This is a fantastic house for any family there is plenty of room kitchen as plenty of utensils with the added of bonus of dishwasher, washing machine & tumble drier and downstairs facilities. There is plenty to do nearby I recommend Sudbury Hall and the museum of childhood. also Kedleston hall about 8 miles away. Wendy is lovely always on hand if you need anything.
