Gorgeous stay, very rural as about 6 miles into the village for a small Co op but we enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and the privacy. No bath so washing the baby and little boy in the shower was tricky, and the carpet is cream and new so beware messy eaters (i.e all kids) so we dined outside. There is an iron and board but this isn't advertised on the site, and when I phoned up to ask this company I was told there wasn't one, so had to take my own which was a bit of a pain and waste of time. No washing machine but the owners do a service on a Wednesday - this was too late in the week for us so we had to find a laundrette. Would certainly return to this beautiful cottage as the garden is literally in a cow field and we enjoyed the highland cows, sheep, pheasants, red squirrels and rabbits who came to visit us. We also enjoyed the lovely fresh eggs the owner brought us.

We had a wonderful holiday in this cottage. It is spacious, warm, comfortable and newly furnished and has the most glorious views over fields and hills. We enjoyed watching the red squirrels and birds as we sat in the sun on the large patio. It is far from anywhere, and consequently peaceful - the only sounds are the birds. We found it a lovely and convenienet base for exploring the county. Thanks to the owners and manager!

A very well-equipped cottage, clean and very comfortable. We loved the remote situation and the views. Not much nearby but that was why we booked it! A real gem and one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

We loved staying here. We stayed for two weeks and the owners very kindly arranged for the cottage to be cleaned and provided fresh bed linen and towels halfway through our stay. The views of the surrounding hills were wonderful to wake up to each day.

We had been to the area around Rothbury before and knew what to expect of the countryside, roads, and distance from places we were likely to visit (besides walking locally which was good). The cottage was excellent, the updating well designed. We would choose it again.
