This property has a security deposit of £250. \n Situated at the gateway to the popular seaside towns of Lynton and Lynmouth Home Cottage stands detached in an elevated position in the small village of Barbrook. The house has been designed and furnished to offer the highest standards of presentation and comfort. The versatile living areas are complemented by three welcoming bedrooms to ensure a restful and enjoyable holiday. Outside there is a large paved garden area to the front complete with a water feature. There are two further smaller courtyard areas to sit out in and an enclosed one for those bringing along their pets.\n\nThere are walks directly from the cottage up the lane up onto Exmoor and for your convenience a handy local shop and garage are located just around the corner. It is a short drive to the centre of Lynton where you will find a good range of shops and amenities. Lynton is connected to its seaside neighbour Lynmouth by the famous funicular railway. Lynmouth is delightful and again has a good range of shops and places to eat.\n\nThere are numerous attractions within easy reach including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best surf beaches in the country as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor has lots to offer including Tarr Steps the village of Withypool and a walk up Dunkery Beacon the highest point on Exmoor. A day out into West Somerset is recommended with places such as Porlock Weir the pretty harbour village of Watchet medieval Dunster village and the National Trust’s Dunster Castle and Gardens. The seaside town of Minehead nearby is home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Great Torrington. Woody Bay narrow gauge railway is about 2½ miles away and the South West Coastal Path provides some challenging but highly rewarding walks and is easily accessible. For those wanting to venture slightly further afield Ilfracombe Woolacombe and Croyde are all within an hour of the property. Beach 2 miles. Shop 100 yards pub ¾ mile and restaurant 1½ miles. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/106/840/10675251.jpg UK10773

We had a lovely week at Home Cottage, it was myself, husband our two daughters (12,14) and our French Bulldog! The whole family loved the house, plenty of space and different areas to relax and then fantastic kitchen dining area for us to cook and be together. The house is decorated to such a high standard (if I could move in I would!) with no detail left out and even down to the utensils and smaller details - everything was top quality! A lovely quiet spot but then a short drive to the towns of Lynton and Lynmouth both equally as lovely, and connected by the unique clifftop railway. They both had independent shops and selection of cafes and restaurants. Everywhere was dog friendly which was great and everyone was super friendly. We walked from Barbrook to Lynmouth along a beautiful National trust path, it does get quite steep so be prepared but the views are worth it! Beautiful home in a lovely spot and would definitely like to return!

Where do I even begin! We are a family of 4, kids aged 2 & 4 and we all equally loved this place. This cottage was an absolute dream, it has been recently refurbished to a VERY high standard Helen has literally thought of every little detail. I packed so much to make sure we didn't come short of anything but there was no need Home Cottage is a home from home, the kitchen was well stocked with all utensils, there was cleaning products for all occassions and a washer & dryer so I really didn't need to pack half the stuff I did. We arrived with a whole itinerary but when we saw how beautiful the cottage was we didn't even want to leave! There's plenty of books if you like reading, plenty of dvds of all genre's in the snug (if you have young kids like ours you may need to take a few more as we planned to stream some but there is no internet connection in there), games cupboard is well stocked and even little added touches like dog bowls and a lead! There is plenty to do the kids loved picking shells and rocks at Lynmouth Beach and we took a few trips to Woolacombe Beach which is just beautiful. I'd highly recommend the local pub that serves thai food I love that they even had tofu. I haven't stopped telling people about this place since we left, we were the first people to stay since the renovation (I had no idea so this was a lovely surprise) and looked after it as it was our own home I hope everyone continues to do this so it can maintain it's high standards. We are already planning a trip back and we are a family that never goes back to the same place!
