It lies within easy reach of beaches, harbours, coastal walks and creeks, and makes the ideal base for families to enjoy a great summer holiday, or for couples looking for a relaxing break whatever the season.Falmouth has a vibrant calendar of events ranging from the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Week in June, Falmouth Week in August (a major music and food festival with a great carnival atmosphere) to the Falmouth Oyster Festival in October. The area attracts prestigious sailing events, and is a major yachting and water sports haven. It is surrounded by some of the most scenic waterways, including the Helford River and creeks. You can take a small ferry to nearby St Mawes and Flushing, a pleasure trip down the Helford River or a wildlife safari to spot dolphins, basking sharks and seals.There are some of the UK’s best sub-tropical gardens on your doorstep, including Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick, and with art galleries, some great pubs serving local food and ales, cafés, tea rooms, a cinema and local individual shops, Falmouth is a winner with guests all year round! You can also visit the National Maritime Museum located in Events Square, and Pendennis Castle perched on the headland, which was built by Henry VIII and is twinned with St Mawes Castle on the opposite side of the estuary. The area has many beautiful beaches, and the prestigious harbour at nearby Mylor offers a public boat launching facility. Kayaking, canoeing, wind surfing and sailing lessons are all available. The area boasts some wonderful restaurants and there are many waterfront locations where you can dine al fresco and watch the world go by. Beach 3½ miles. Shop and pub ¾ mile, and restaurant 2 miles.

We enjoyed a good week in this immaculately clean modern 3 bed house. Very quiet location but very close to Falmouth and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. An ideal base for exploring the local area.
