Please note There is a stream in the grounds 50 yards away as well as banks and access to private disused railway tunnel. \n \u003e These two holiday properties form part of Hopebrook Farm a non-working farm which dates back to 1745. Sitting in 5 acres within the grounds of the owner’s home both properties have been stylishly furnished with great attention to detail for guests’ comfort. Interestingly the Lea Line disused railway tunnel is part of the land which can be explored. A natural spring stream runs through the peaceful grounds with seating areas to relax and unwind or enjoy some wonderful walking with access directly from the side of the paddock onto the public footpath network. This is a great central location for exploring Gloucestershire Herefordshire and The Forest of Dean. \n\nHistorical places of interest include Gloucester Cathedral with its fine central tower dating from the 15th century and Hereford Cathedral with its Mappa Mundi Centre. The Forest of Dean offers an array of outdoor pursuits cycling walking riding climbing and fishing to name but a few. The picturesque Wye Valley an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers stunning scenery and canoeing on the Wye. Cheltenham is only about a half-hour drive and is especially popular for the Cheltenham Gold Cup and other horse racing festivals. The Literary Festival has also grown over the years to major international prominence but festivals aside the town itself is well worth visiting. Guests are also within easy reach of Ross-on-Wye and further afield but within an hour’s drive are the towns of Monmouth Usk Abergavenny and the pretty villages of the Cotswolds.     The Granary is lovely accommodation in a delightfully peaceful setting and ideally located for easy driving access to a wide range of wonderful countryside, historic towns and activities for all ages. We walked parts of Offa's Dyke, followed the Wye Valley down to Tintern and rode the Forest of Dean Heritage Railway - all highlights of our stay. However, there are plenty more things demanding we make a return visit to the Granary. Julie and James were very friendly and informative hosts.

    The granary was a very clean and comfortable cottage. Everything you could need was supplied. We were warmly welcomed by Julie and Jim who gave us some useful information about the area. The exit from the property onto the road needs concentration because of the bends in the road and speed of the traffic. We had a very relaxing holiday.

    The Granary is a lovely cottage for a getaway break. It is in a lovely setting in the countryside but close to lots of places of interest and towns. Best of both worlds. The cottage itself was really cosy, a log fire if wished. It was to a very high standard. The hosts made us very welcome and left us a lovely welcome pack. I wish we could have stayed longer. We would love to go back one day.

    We were met by Jim and Julie who offered to help us carry in our luggage. The cottage itself is delightful and has been tastefully renovated and decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge area very comfortable. The bedroom is very large and the bed extremely comfortable. The welcome pack was lovely and included a bottle of fizz and a large box of shortbread. We went to the Farmers Boy pub, about a 10 minute walk, and Julie even arranged for us to use their loyalty card, which meant we got a free bottle of wine with our meal - and the pies were really delicious. We visited several local towns a d had some enjoyable walks across the fields. Could not recommend enough

    Beautifully presented cottage with everything you need. Owners very welcoming, informative and clear on making your stay a quality experience. Good location for the area to visit, lots to do within under an hour in all directions. Highly recommended!

    This is a lovely cottage set in beautiful grounds. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design of the rooms. We stay in a lot of holiday cottages and often get annoyed by basic things like a lack of hooks to hang coats but no such problem here. The standard of kitchen appliances and equipment is very high. Generous welcome pack on arrival. Despite it being a one-bedroom cottage the rooms were spacious - the upstairs bedroom is huge with a walk-in wardrobe. We were staying in late October and the house was warm and cosy. The owners are friendly and helpful. The excellent village pub (The Farmer's Boy) is just a 10 minute walk away along a pavement. Very dark at night-time but fine if you come prepared with a good torch. The only negatives for us were the wi-fi, which is only really fast enough for basic internet access/mail etc and the dangerous pull-out from the property's driveway onto the main A40 which would benefit from a mirror.

    10 out of 10. What a Great place Julie and James have, who are a very helpful couple. The Welcome pack is a lovely gesture. The Granary is a lovely place to stay, Very Clean, Quality Fixtures and fittings. Home from Home. I highly recommend the Granary for a good relaxing Holiday and to top it off the weather was great. I would not think twice about re-booking for another holiday.
